Website Auctions Luxury Hotel Rooms at Ridiculous Prices

Sandra Essary
Do you dream of staying in a to-die-for suite at a luxury hotel but find the cost out of reach? Stop dreaming and start planning. Off & Away is an auction website at which you can get that luxury suite you dream of at ridiculously low prices. We're talking about ultimate luxury suites here - suites often reserved at luxury hotels for celebrities and heads of state.

One Off & Away auction winner got a 2-bedroom ocean view villa at a luxury hotel in Hawaii for four nights for a total of $30.90 (a $3,156 value won on August 7, 2010). Another winner got one night in a first-class suite at the luxury Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York for just $12.50 (a $990 value won on September 22, 2010).

Unbelievable? Believe it, for these actual prices paid for suites at luxury hotels happened at the new Off & Away website.

So What's the Catch?

How the auctions of these luxury hotel suites work is pretty straightforward. First, you need to register as a new member. Registration is free. Then find an offer for a room or suite at a luxury hotel that interests you.

After you have found an auction you want to bid on, buy a package of bids. Bid packages range from $10 to $250 for 10 to 250 opportunities to bid. Then simply bid on the auction of a room or suite you like. Bids themselves are in $.10 increments. The highest bidder wins.

The catch on this type of auction is that it costs you $1 to make one bid. If you win, you add the cost of your bids to the auctioned price of the suite. For example, if you bid 45 times and win a suite that ends up selling at $32, you will pay $45 plus $32, or $77. It will still be way lower than the regular cost of the suite, regardless. Some of the suite packages at Off & Away are worth thousands of dollars.

If you lose the auction, you can't use your bids again. However, the cost of your bids can be applied towards reserving another luxury hotel suite or room. If you reserve a suite or room at the same luxury hotel you were bidding on, and you will get 110% of your bids credited toward that room. For all other hotels (any hotel, any city) you get 100% credit.

The only way you can lose, really, is if you choose not to use your "lost" bids at all. My advice: don't "play" at bidding. Bid only if you are serious about winning a certain hotel suite at one of the luxury hotels, then go for it. Be prepared to stay at your computer for awhile, because some of these auctions can run over an hour. Watch an auction or two before you bid so that you get a feel for how an auction works. About Off & Away

Off & Away was founded by former Amazon.com and travel industry executives, some of whom are Expedia veterans. Off & Away is a young site that started up in May, 2010, with a mission to help everyday travelers gain access to exceptional suites at luxury hotels. Some of the luxury hotels they have done business with include Caesar's Palace Las Vegas, the Intercontinental Chicago, the Carlyle New York, the Resort at Squaw Creek Lake Tahoe, plus luxury hotels in Mexico, Colorado, Florida, Massachusetts, California, New England, and many more.

Off & Away continues to add luxury hotels with each passing day. Go to their website to watch a live auction and see examples of the incredibly low final prices for suites in luxury hotels.
