Started over 10 years ago, Asylumcam originally had webcams set up in the home of the owners. The owners have recently moved into a new home and it hasn't been determined if cams will go up in the new home or not. It's understandable they may hesitate to install cams in the new place. Having a webcam in your home for 10 years can be stressful and they may want a break. Not to worry though as there are plenty of other cams on their site. At present there are 28 cams on site, but that could increase at any time.
Currently the list includes the Knickerbocker Hotel, OKC-PRG Hospital cams, Willard Library , Ordsall Hall and cams set up in private homes. You do have to join to view the cams but it's free to do so. It's not all cams either. They have some great paranormal articles to read, a chat box ( accessible after a set number of posts), and all kinds of forums. You can share your artwork , play games in the games forum, share your website with others , post about haunted places in your area, videos, stories, books, EVP's and much more. The newest addition is Asylumcam radio, their new show that comes on Tuesday nights. They have a special guest each week, and you can join in the show by logging on using the link on the homepage. The site is easy to navigate as you can get to anything from the homepage. You can also change the look of the site by changing skins with the skins drop down list which is under your profile info on the left side. You won't get bored as the cams have a fast refresh rate too.
Now I know some of you are going to ask "' why would I want to watch a ghost cam?" Well , why not? If you are into the paranormal and like ghost hunting it's a great way to enjoy that without having to drive anywhere and you can meet some really great people at the same time. They have over 40,000 members from all over the world. It's a nice way to get your ghost fix without leaving home. Now, will you see ghosts all the time? No. Has there been anything spotted on the cams? Yes, and you can check out the caps in the forums. There is one for each cam as well as a Top Cap forum where the best caps are posted. Now I'm not going to tell you that you will see ghosts on the cams for sure. No one can do that, but I can tell you that you're going to have fun watching. You can never be sure you know. I have seen some amazing things captured there.
The staff is extremely nice and and are always willing to help you with anything. I recommend you give this site a try. I think you'll be glad you did..
