Website Review: Fatfree Vegan Recipes

Healthy Vegan Recipes Galore

Leslie Reese, Nutritional Educator
I love to search for new recipes to try or even learn how to 'veganize' past favorites. This website is wonderful because you do not have to sift through recipes that have ingredients you do not want...this one is all vegan.

Upon your arrival to www.fatfreevegan.com the main page entices you with a picture of the recipe of the week. You can also find previous recipes of the week, recently added recipes, and all recipes that have received five stars.

This website has 29 recipe categories including recipes that follow the "Eat to Live" plan and the "McDougall Maximum Weight Loss Program".

There is a search option if you happen to already know what you are looking for, or would like to search for a specific ingredient.

The links button takes you to listings including websites offering more low fat and fat free recipes, mailing lists and message boards, and other websites for gluten-free, weight watchers point calculator, and a calorie counter website.

There is a very helpful section of frequently asked questions. Some of the questions they address are:
1. What is a fatfree vegan diet?
2. Why follow a fatfree vegan diet?
3. What foods are allowed/not allowed?
4. What do I use to replace fat and eggs in cooking?
5. What do I use to replace cheese and other dairy products?

Based on the above answer to the question about the foods that are allowed/not allowed registered users have the ability to add recipes to the site to share with others.

There are also links to a discussion board and blog site.

All in all, this is a great website for any vegan.
