Unless you've been living under a rock for a good number of years, I'm sure you've heard of Harry Potter, and his many fantasy adventures. Originally created by a British author by the name of J. K. Rowling, it started out as just fantasy novels, but grew into somewhat of a world wide fascination with everything about Harry Potter.
Many movies and video games were created based on the Harry Potter series, and on-line there is tons of fan made websites with information about Harry Potter. One of the most mentionable is called Mugglenet, though the name may seem strange, this fan site is nothing to look down upon.
Your probably wondering what types of information this site has about Harry Potter, we'll get to that in just a minute, I'm going to explain all the good and the bad about this site. After I've done that, I'll give it a proper rating based on my experiences using the site, sounds fair enough right? Lets get started!
*The Good
At first glance, the site appears to be somewhat professionally designed. If you take a look at the left side of the page you see a list of things that Mugglenet offers, including a chat, fan art, and so on. For a fan site, Mugglenet is pretty impressive, as they have interviews from the stars of the Harry Potter movies. The site also offers a weekly podcast in which they discuss the latest Harry Potter news and rumors.
The website can also been translated into different languages, which is a pretty big advantage for a fan site. Proving that this one is very well developed and taken care of. One of the more humorous sections of the book displays mistakes that were in several of the books.
Interestingly enough, there is a section called "The Little Things", which describes clues J.K Rowling left in the books concerning characters deaths and so on. If you don't find this interesting how about checking out the section where the website discusses oddities in the book.
You will also find pictures of the Harry Potter characters on this site, as well as links to many Harry Potter Forums, and before entering the chat you receive a warning that you may encounter movie and book spoilers. Mugglenet contests seem pretty interesting as well, and they even host fan art and fan fiction. So basically this is a site, by the fans, for the fans.
*The Bad
There isn't many bad things about the website, I mean it's almost perfect. Some people may not like the advertisements on each page, but the webmaster has to pay the bills somehow right? If advertisement's don't bother you, and your a Harry Potter fan, I'm sure you'll love this website.
*Final Rating
As I said above, you'll probably need to be a Harry Potter fan to enjoy this site throughly. However, I give this website two thumbs up, because it's very well designed for a fan site and it provides a lot of information on Harry Potter and his many adventures. Harry Potter fan? Go check this website out right now!
