Website Review: Thesentencegame.com

Warning: Although there is no age restriction on the site, I would not suggest allowing younger viewers going as there can be material there that is considered offensive in both textual and graphical form. It's 99% clean-humor but there will occasionally be things that may be deemed inappropriate.

If you're a fan of Pictionary and Telephone, then get ready for a hilarious twist: the combination of the two. The game can be played with a piece of paper and pencil and at least three people but the more, the funnier it gets. Start by writing a sentence on the paper and pass it on to the next person. Have that person draw a picture that represents the sentence (or conveys the meaning of the sentence). Hide the sentence and show the picture to the next person who will write a sentence based on the picture. Continue this process until you want to stop and it ends on a sentence.

Sound fun? Absolutely; now you can play this online here. Make sure you refer to the rules before playing!

Before you play, however, you'll need to register an account; then, simply press the Play button and you'll be presented with either a picture or sentence. Write a sentence or draw a picture and you'll be part of that game. You'll be notified when the game ends and you can look at it for hilarious moments.

This site is great in that everything is so easy; making an account takes less than a minute, starting a game takes a click and you have an hour to do write or draw to ensure that everything is really spontaneous. You can't play another game while you are currently in one; that is, once you click "Play", you must stay in that game for the next hour; there's no check-up either: if you don't want to draw a picture, just let the timer run out (or leave the computer, effectively doing the same thing).

Another thing that makes this website great is the archives. You can view past games and since all games can be rated, you can view some truly legendary games by looking at the ratings (this is my all time favorite game) or search texts for things people have said.

After you've played long enough, there are some traditions you'll recognize. These are often inside jokes that make the games even more ridiculous or absurd but funny all the same. If you're truly dedicated, become a member and you'll have access to a special part of the site that allows member-only games. These games are amazing because everyone there is usually very talented at playing the game.

Finally, if you simply want to go to a place to appreciate art that was drawn in under an hour, this is also the perfect place. You can find member's highest rated art or look for some amazing artists (example); they are generally clumped up high in the user list if organized by rating.

Definitely one of the best sites out there, you can have tons of fun and appreciate talent. Highly recommended for anyone who has a little spare time every once in a while! But don't mess it for the rest of us and only write sentences, draw a picture every now and then!

Another Warning: The site may have trolls which means many of the games will be spammed with non-sense. If you're a recognized user, you may be upgraded to a Member to play there where trolls cannot touch! If you're not and you see spam, just mark it as spam!

Love math which probably lead to my interest in programming; later started the violin which lead to music which is starting to overpower the programming side. College now. Yay.  View profile

As much as I hate to get another online account for anything this sounds like just the thing to alleviate boredom. The only thing missing from the review was that drawing part. Like does that involve drawing and scanning images, but I will check the site out and find out. Thanks for the review.
