Caringbridge has impacted many people, but a few really stood out to me on the website's testimonial section. Amy Taylor used Caringbridge when she was pregnant with her miracle baby, Arbor. Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer early in her pregnancy, and faced months of chemotherapy, blood transfusion, and a mastectomy all while carrying baby Arbor. Amy and her family held their breath, praying for baby Arbor to survive and be healthy despite all the risks. Amy's family started a page for her on Caringbridge and she says it carried her through the difficult time. "When you're fighting cancer, you feel like you're all alone. Even when I couldn't get out of bed, I could still type. The love from people reading the site, their prayers kept me going," Amy explained. Baby Arbor was born healthy and Amy is now cancer-free but she still supports the Caringbridge family by encouraging others going through difficult times.
So how can you be involved with Caringbridge even if you have no personal link to someone who is very sick? First, you can create a link to Caringbridge from your website or blog. Second, you can take their free brochures to your local hospitals and cancer support groups. Third, you can use Yahoo's GoodSearch engine when you're doing web searches. GoodSearch will make a donation to Caringbridge everytime you do a search and it costs you nothing. Advertisers pay out the money to support the charity of your choice. Lastly, you can give a monetary donation to Caringbridge and support the nonprofit work that they selflessly do everyday.
Everyone should visit this inspirational website with stories that will touch your heart and stir your prayer life. You will find yourself counting your blessings, while you pray for those who are traveling the road of suffering. Caringbridge helps hurting families and takes comfortable people away from their bubbles of everyday living by providing an awareness of life's precious value.
