Wedding Blogs that Won't Stress You Out

So you want to plan a wedding. If you're like hundreds of other brides out there, the thought of starting your planning process can be daunting. Looking to the internet has the possibility of only providing more stress, as "wedding blogs" can often provide a sense of panic over all the perfect details you're missing out on having. But fear not, there are some wedding blogs out there that can provide an immense amount of practical, helpful advice and reflection about your wedding day. So if you're a bride and an internet junky, here are some wedding blogs to help you think about and plan your day without giving you a case of the crazy:

1) A Practical Wedding: This blogs title sums it all up perfectly. Meg, the blog's author, is more concerned with forming a lasting spousal relationship and creating a celebration of family and friends than wedding colors ad escort cards. Sometimes she will discuss dress shopping or shoes, but not in any way that makes you feel like you're in a competition. She also features "wedding graduates," other blog authors or readers who give advice about what they enjoyed about their wedding and what the process meant to them. Rather than talk about Chivalri chairs and ice sculptures, these graduates discuss the time spent with their families, and little mishaps that didn't other them. It truly is refreshing.

2) A Backyard Wedding: This blogs author and her hubby threw their wedding in their parents backyard (hence the title). Their story proves you can have a beautiful and memorable wedding at home your way. They thrifted plates that match their scheme, created interesting and chic lighting with mason jar lanterns, and even made some of the food themselves. Overall their day is an inspiration to any bride looking to plan a unique gathering for her reception. They also chose a Quaker style ceremony for any Quaker or curious bride to check out.

3) Offbeat Bride: Offbeat bride is wedding blog connected with the book by the same name. It features extremely unique weddings and how to plan them, for anyone out there with offbeat inklings. There is even advice for how to politely deal with nosy people who question your choices, something any bride can certainly relate too. Both the blog and book are a must read for anyone interested in the non-traditional.

4) A 2000 Dollar Wedding: Sarah and Matt got married a little over a year ago, and yes, they did it for two thousand dollars. Not only did they get married, they had a weekend long celebration in the woods with their family and friends, and had a blast. For those tight on budget, or just questioning the need for all the stuff that is marketed to you once the ring is on your finger, Sarah and Matt really took every desire in and considered why it was necessary and if they really felt they needed it on their special day. The result is an amazing family reunion style party. Now that their married, Sarah often blogs about keeping a healthy relationship and offers advice to other brides. It is truly inspirational.

With allies like these wedding blogs in your browser, you'll be sure to have a back up when you need to remember a wedding is about your love, not silk table linens.
