Wedding Centerpieces

One of the most important parts of the reception is the centerpiece. No table is complete with out the centerpiece. The centerpiece turns a 2 dimensional table to a third and fourth dimension. The most important thing to remember about your centerpieces is that they must be central to the "theme" of the wedding. Whether it's a black tie affair or just a few friends the centerpiece is everything to the table.

For the princess theme, since all brides are princesses on their special day, then the centerpiece could be something like mint filled tiaras, or a castle with confetti in it.

If you're have a formal wedding, black tie and gowns galore, you might want to pick something a little more appropriate. A nice black and white candle and a silver placement will set the mood nicely.

A more traditional romantic night wedding can have that added flare when the tables are adorned with beautiful multiple levels of pillar candles or floating candles in a bowl. However, with floating candles I caution you: make sure the bowl in which you float the candles do not curve over the water. When the candles float over to the lips of the bowls, they will crack the glass.

You can either buy the throw away cameras or if you have enough money buy a number of digital cameras. Each person who picks up these cameras will give you another view of your special day that you never would have seen. These cameras will even capture candid moments at the specific tables; a joy that is not realized till months after the day. The photographer is interested only in the bride and groom, whereas the guests could snap a few pictures that truly point out the antics and the greatness of your wedding.

Another thing to think about for wedding table centerpieces is confetti. Confetti can always add flare to the tables. Now a day there is a wide variety of plastic confetti from recycled green confetti to black and whiter bow tie and top hat. Most of the great banquets and award shows use confetti to add a flare to the tables, and there's no reason you couldn't do it too. Cameras add a personal touch to any table and can be stacked or displayed in a decorative fashion. Whatever you decide for the wedding table centerpieces, the number one consideration is the ambience you want to create.
