Putting together the most perfect wedding is one of the biggest adventures you will ever have. Yes, you will try to please everyone, but that is impossible. It is your day, do it the way you want. And in Chicago, you have a huge variety of venues to choose from. But, do not wait until the last minute. For instance, if you are planing a June wedding, you will find some places booked up to a year in advance. Yes, you will have to compromise on some issues, but the earlier you start, the more choices you will have. Listen to the specialists, they know their business and the can take a lot of the pressure off.

For the city dweller who wants a country style wedding, the perfect place is the Silver Lake Country Club located at 14700 82nd Avenue
Orland Park IL 60462. Imagine your ceremony taking place at one of the outdoor chapels - The West Garden Patio can accommodate up to 200 guests and there is the soft sound of a waterfall in the background. The Lakeside Chapel Site is in a valley by the lake. Of course, there are indoor areas as well, which can accommodate from 250 to 420 guests. Call the Event Coordinators at 708.349.6940 ext 5 to make an appointment and find out about the different packages. A venue like this has plenty of parking for your guests, and it is not that far from Chicago itself.

For the water lovers, there is a wedding on the lake aboard an Odyssey Yacht Everything is included and you can choose to have your guests choose from a menu or do the traditional thing and select beforehand. If there is any drawback, it is the fact that the times are limited. You have to fit your ceremony to their schedule, so it is not for everyone. The ceremony itself costs $6,000. And the dinner reception cruise costs from $144.92 - $215.46 per person.

For those who want to stay on land and in Chicago itself, one choice is the The Congress Plaza Hotel & Convention Center located at
520 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60605. Their package includes a 5 course meal and you can choose from vegetarian, fish, beef, pork and/ or chicken. They even have a special children's menu and it includes overnight accommodations for the bride and groom and discount rates for everyone else.
