Wedding Color Trends for 2011

Cheryl Engelke
Next to choosing a wedding gown, most brides- to- be rate choosing their wedding colors as one of the most important decisions in planning a wedding. The trick, though, is to not only pick something you like, but to also pick something that is in style. Gone are the days of pastels and royal hues. Spring wedding trends for 2011 are going back to nature in a whole new way.

Since springtime is a time for new beginnings, look to all things blooming for some of the latest trends in wedding colors. Apple green, Clementine orange, Pear, Cranberry Red, Watermelon Pink, Coral and Lilac and Lavender purple are just a colors blooming their way into weddings in 2011.

Greens of many hues are making their way onto the 2011 bridal scene. Green hues include Pine, Emerald, Amazon, Olive, and Myrtle Green. Green, if not used as a central color, is easy to bring into the wedding colors using greenery and the stems and/or leaves of fresh cut flowers. See how green can be brought into your wedding without making it a central color.

Natural colors of rock, stone and the like are also being hailed as 2011's spring wedding color trends. Think Slate Grey, Agate Blue, Oyster Grey, Charcoal Grey, and Shell to bring in a contrasting hue to the above mentioned brighter colors. These colors are all very classy and will actually compliment most colors.

Other wedding colors for 2011 include Navy Blue, Chocolate Brown, Brown and Grey Taupe, Brick Red, Yellow, and Antique White. If a few of these colors strike your fancy, why not try the following color combinations:

Yellow, Slate Grey and Grey

Watermelon and Slate Grey

Coral, Apple Green, and Taupe

Apple Green and Navy Blue

Coral, Taupe, and Ivory

Cranberry Red, Watermelon Pink, and Antique White

Navy Blue, Blue, and Yellow

Coral, Chocolate Brown, Ivory

Lilac and Light Teal
