Wedding Favors You Can Make at Home

If you are planning a fall wedding here are three homemade fall wedding favor ideas you can use to help save money and add some creativity to your wedding.

Milk Carton Vase with Tissue Paper Fall Wedding Favors:

First you will need:

½ pint milk carton
Fall colored tissue paper
Glue
Bottle sponge paint
Your favorite flowers

Get as many ½ pint milk cartons from an elementary, middle or high school as you will need to set on the wedding dinner tables. You can ask your children and/or the schools to please save you the milk cartons after the children rinse them out. Maybe suggest the teachers put a cardboard box for the kids to dispose of the milk cartons.

Purchase fall colored tissue paper, glue sticks or Elmer's glue, bottle sponge paint and your favorite flowers from a discount store such as Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby, Ben Franklin, etc. Wait for a sale or clearance if you have time.

To make your fall wedding favors first use the bottle sponge paint to cover the wording on the milk carton. While the carton is still wet you can add the ripped up tissue paper. Let dry. Next use glue to stick down any tissue paper that is needed. You may want to leave some tissue paper sticking up for a 3-D effect. Take the sponge bottle paint and dab dots around the milk carton vase wedding favor.

Add one wedding flower (real, silk or plastic) to the milk carton vase with dirt for live plants or marbles/pebbles for artificial flowers.

Set wedding favors one to a table. You now have created your own simple and gorgeous homemade wedding favors.

Homemade Wedding Favors Using Fall Leaves

Bring the beautiful fall colors inside to your wedding.

First you will need:

A few bags of fall leaves and any type of nuts in your area
Gold glitter or whatever color matches your wedding
Glue
Wax paper
Gold spray paint or whatever color matches your wedding
Scissors
Candles

Buy all items, except the leaves and nuts, from a discount store such as Wal-Mart, K-Mart or Target.

First collect a few bags of pretty fall colored leaves and nuts. Glue glitter all over the leaves. Next take wax paper and iron the leaves in between as we did when we were elementary students. (You will want to iron the leaves with wax paper as when leaves dry they start to curl up and using the wax paper will iron the leaves flat.) Cut out the fall leaves individually. Take spray paint and spray the nuts and add glitter if you'd like.

Next take the colorful and glittery leaves and nuts and scatter all over the center of the tables. Insert a candle on each table to add ambiance.

Fall in Love Wedding Favors

First you will need:

Yellow, deep red, brown, orange construction paper
Scissors
Glue sticks
Extra fine black permanent marker

Purchase all items above from a discount store such as Wal-Mart, K-Mart or Target.

Cut-out three inch hearts in all four construction paper colors. Write the wedding couple's names on half of the hearts along with their wedding date. Glue a back onto the heart with the name on leaving the top part of the heart open. Once the glue has dried, add two Hershey's kisses for your guests to enjoy and/or you could add a special little love poem created by you for your guests to read.
