Wedding Favors for a Traditional, Romantic Wedding

DIY Wedding Favors for a Traditional Wedding

Wendy Dawn
The Internet and bridal books are filled with ideas that will make your wedding novel or unique. The truth is that some people still prefer a traditional wedding. They don't need any surprises, aren't looking to pull a rabbit out of a hat; they simply want an elegant, traditional, yet affordable wedding.

The following traditional, romantic wedding favors are easy to make or inexpensive to purchase. That is why they have been chosen for this list.

You will not find anything new or outrageous in this list, but you will find plenty of ideas for traditional, romantic wedding favors that will add the final touch of class and elegance to your traditional wedding.

Jordan Almonds in a mesh and ribbon bag
This is as traditional as wedding favors get, but it never gets old. Jordan Almonds are appropriate for formal or casual weddings, and they can be used to create an attractive, colorful wedding favor without a great deal of planning or expense. All you need are Jordan Almonds in white, or the color of your choice, and mesh bags with pull-tight ribbons, also in the color of your choice.

Heart shaped tin of mints
Heart shaped tins or plastic containers are easily found at your local craft store or can be ordered online. I've even found adorable plastic heart containers at our local dollar store. These can be filled with breath mints, after dinner mints, or practically any candy that you feel is appropriate for your wedding. Small tins of mint take minutes to prepare and the cost of your traditional, romantic wedding favor is minimal.

Small silver photo frames
Small silver photo frames are a traditional wedding favor that can be used in one of several ways. The photo frames can hold pictures of the bride in groom, in everything from formals to candids, and placed on the tables as part of the wedding décor. Alternately, pictures of the wedding guests can be placed in the photo frames, and the pictures can be used as place cards. This is obviously more work, and works better for more casual weddings. Another idea is to place the name of the place setting in the photo frame. This provides the frame as a classy, traditional wedding favor, but makes use of its place on the table to enhance the wedding table setting.

Small, flavorful coffee samples in colorful bags
Flavorful premium coffee can be purchased and placed in small, cloth, drawstring bags. These classic wedding favors can be placed along side the table place setting or placed in a decorative basket at the entrance and exit of the reception hall.

It doesn't take a lot of time or money to create a memorable, classic, and romantic wedding favor that you can be proud of. With so many other wedding details to tend to, keep wedding favors simple and classic. Then you will be free to take your actual wedding over the top.
