Wedding Guest Dress Trends for Spring 2011

Nicole Lang
Trends in wedding guest attire change constantly. There are many exciting up and coming trends for the Spring 2011 season for women this year. Certain trends transcend the seasons and the years. All guests should dress with class and white should be avoided always. Other than that all other trends are a go. Do you have a wedding to attend in spring of 2011?

This spring look for the following three trends:

One-Shoulder Dresses

This look has been gaining popularity of late however expect for it to make a huge push forward in the spring season. This look can be found in the lineup of quite a few designers. It can be used differently as a strap by itself or with a flower appliqué for example.

For example at The Limited, nearly 1/3 of their wedding guest dresses have a one-shoulder look including the cascading ruffles dress for approx. $90. At Nordstrom's there is the gorgeous Suzi Chin Maggy Boutique one shoulder lace sheath dress for $158. Both of these looks are unique and showcase why the one shoulder look is going to be so popular in Spring 2011.

Straight Dresses

It used to be that dresses for wedding guests were A-Line or had a certain full skirt to them. Today the cleaner line the better. Although pencil skirts themselves have been around for sometime, incorporating them into gorgeous dresses for wedding guests seems to be more and more popular.

There are many beautiful dresses out there with this silhouette including the Ralph Lauren Novella Matte Jersey at Macy's for $129. This regal royal blue color is gorgeous and exceptionally appropriate for a wedding in early spring.

Prints

Very often, many guests at weddings go the safe route with solid satin dresses. This spring however opt for something with a print. It is more fun and will likely set you apart from the rest of the crowd. The trick is getting something fun and vibrant without being too out there. Subtle prints are a great fashion statement.

At Macy's there is the Corrina Sleeveless Floral by T. Tahari for $149. A black dress with a bottom that has a white and gray tone and florals is perfect for a wedding guest. The Printed Crossfront Strapless Dress by Shoshanna at Lord & Taylor is a hefty $350 and is a matter of taste. It is very colorful with green, pink, blue, purple and black being the main color.

Most of these dresses incorporate at least 2 of the 3 trends and most that you will find for weddings next spring will do the same. No matter what your choice keep it classy. Class is always in style.
