Wedding Heart Pocket Favors

Loving Heart Party Favors

I love crafts that let me make the choices; ones where I'm not told what to buy, in what color, and what sizes. I want to choose all of those things for myself. You'll love it that you have all the choices when you make wedding heart pocket favors. You can decorate the tables with them and then allow the guests to choose which ones they want to take home. You'll have fun making them in any manner you choose.

You won't have any trouble finding hearts - or things you can use to easily make hearts - at a craft store. You can find something like a card stock heart and it's ready for you to decorate. Or, you could just buy construction paper and cut the heart yourself. Another choice is to use thin cardboard to make the heart, then cover it with metallic gift wrap. The cardboard or cardstock is an excellent choice because it's stiff, and the metallic gift wrap is gorgeous. Available in silver, gold, red, white, and other colors, the gift wrap looks impressive at any wedding. But, when you choose something like a doily heart, you create a dainty look that's suitable for many different themes of weddings. The doily looks particularly lacy when you weave satin ribbon in and out of the motif.

After choosing the materials you'll work with, make a fairly large heart, and use a smaller heart as the pocket. The small heart can be made from the same thing you used for the large heart, or from something else. For example, you can make a covered cardboard heart as the main heart, and a dainty doily heart as the pocket, or you can make a large paper heart, with a small paper pocket. The choices are all up to you. If you use doilies it's fun to print out pictures and glue them on. Or, print out a poem, a love sentiment, or even an excerpt from a book, and attach it to the doily.

Once you have the small and large hearts ready it's just a matter of attaching the small one to the large one. If you want, glue lace or other frills around the pocket. You also have a choice of using a nice sticker to make the couple's monogram on the pocket. Use the pocket heart (or other shape) to hold the actual party favors. Fill the pocket with small candies, photos, poems, or any number of other choices.

Lay the hearts around on the tables, as decorations, and let the guests each take one as they leave. Or, just place all the hearts on one table, by the door, where guests can pick one on the way out. There are countless ways to make the heart pocket party favors and all of them produce beautiful hearts filled with little treasures. Your guests are going to love them and you'll have a fun time making them.
