Having trouble picking your color scheme for your Tuscan themed wedding? How to make them work for a fall wedding? Well, when you are picking your color scheme, think of the Tuscan countryside, vineyards, and fall leaves on a grapevine! Pick rich hues of gold, amber, burnt orange, rust, lemon yellow, brown, plum, burgundy, olive green, dark green, and cream.
To add interest to your wedding, choose three colors for your color scheme. However, pick no more than three. It will be confusing to the human eye! For example, let's use brown, burnt orange, and yellow. How to use these colors? Pick brown table clothes, a chocolate ganache wedding cake, brown cardstock wedding invitations, and brown bridesmaid's dresses! Then, use burnt orange and yellow or as your accent colors in your flowers, centerpieces, décor, and invitation design.
Don't know what to pick for your wedding invitation? A simple brown invitation with orange or yellow design would be beautiful! If you don't like a brown invitation and want color instead, go to www.invitationsbydawn.com and look at the "Fall Tuscan Sun" invitation. This invitation has a burnt orange background with a mocha font and design - - perfect for a sophisticated or rustic wedding reception! If your reception is very rustic, wrap your invitations with raffia for a finished touch! For an elegant choice, pick the "Vibrant Vineyard" in Pumpkin or the "Monogram Wreath" in Mandarin by www.weddingpaperdivas.com. Both invitations have an ecru or cream background with a simple color motif. Want another color scheme? Go to both websites to look at their excellent selections of Tuscan themed wedding invitations.
From golf courses, wineries, Tuscan estates, wine cellars, or the countryside - - you have many options for your Tuscan wedding theme. Look for Tuscan architecture wedding sites adorned with stucco, natural stone, terracotta tile floors and roofs, and decorated with pottery, fountains, wrought iron, and wood work. If you can't find a site in your area that fits the theme, find a "blank canvas" with your color scheme. You can always add décor to reflect that Tuscan setting! Go to www.theknot.com to find a venue in your area.
Want some themed centerpiece ideas? How about Sunflowers for a casual rustic wedding? Or, how about burnt orange and yellow roses for a more sophisticated and romantic event? Want to know what container to put your flowers in? I recommend pottery, antique bronze pots, or rustic baskets. Do you want something simpler? Try using glass vases and filling them up with oranges and lemons and then add some accent flowers. To add texture and interest to your centerpieces, add branches, sprigs of wheat, raffia, grapevines, grapes, oranges, or lemons. Want to add a little more romance to your celebration? Add candles! I recommend choosing pillar and votive candles in your accent colors. Then, sit them in metal or glass candle holders. What fabric should you use for your linen? I suggest brocades, burlap, damask, and textured taffetas. Go to www.weddinglinens.com for linen ideas. If your venue isn't already adorned with Tuscan décor, add metal sculptures, pots containing rosemary or Mediterranean type plants, and baskets.
Need favor ideas? How about small personalized bottles of wine, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, wine stoppers, wine openers, or rich deep chocolate truffles? If you want more favor ideas, go to www.theknot.com.
Nothing is better than a hearty Tuscan inspired menu for your fall Tuscan themed wedding! I recommend starting your meal with Bruschetta al Pomodoro, Fried Calamari, Antipasto salad, and Prosciutto wrapped in melon. For the second course, Minestrone soup and a salad tossed with vinegar and shaved parmesan cheese. The third course, offer angel hair pasta tossed in a marinara sauce, Roma tomatoes, fresh basil, and shaved parmesan cheese. And for the main entrée, I suggest Rotisserie chicken seasoned with fresh rosemary or fresh White Sea bass served in tomato sauce. Serve both entrees with fresh steamed vegetables and potatoes.
What drinks to serve? Red wine of course! Also, if you don't like champagne, pick a nice Prosecco or sparkling Italian wine. If you don't want to serve alcohol, you can always offer your guests Italian lemonade!
Did you save any room for dessert? Because I saved the best for last - - the wedding cake! How about a deep, dark, ganache fondant wedding cake, filled with strawberries and Grappa? If you don't want chocolate, choose a simple butter cream cake with berry, lemon, or orange filling. Adorn each tier of your cake with a simple gum paste grapevine design, in your accent color. Then, add grapevines, grapes, oranges, lemons, or flowers to the top of your cake.
With the growing popularity of Tuscan themed and fall weddings, no wonder couples are choosing both for their wedding. They both lend themselves to rich, warm, colorful designs, fall Tuscan inspired invitations, heavy food and fabrics, and rich cakes. With so many similarities - - no wonder they are the perfect pair!
