Wedding Planning Software for Macs: Summitsoft Wedding Planner
Although not available for direct download at online software hubs like download.com, Summitsoft Wedding Planner is available from vendors like CompUSA and Amazon/Target for around $30. It requires Mac OS X 10.2.6 or higher, but is available for Windows as well, which makes sorting through reviews difficult. It's hard to tell which platform's users are satisfied. In terms of features, people are lauding this wedding planning software, saying that it covers all the lists, layouts, documents, and everything else that plays into a well-organized, efficient event planning process. However, one Amazon.com reviewer who specifically used the Mac version said that she couldn't even run the application and received a runaround from their email and live tech support. But since it's only one of two instances of wedding planning software for Macs I could find, it may still be worth the attempt.
Wedding Planning Software for Macs: The Essential Wedding Planner
Back in 2004, the publisher of this software claimed that it's "the only wedding planning program currently written for OS X," and with two years gone by, that's still close to accurate. The Essential Wedding Planner features most of the common wedding tools, including modules for managing guest information and other details leading up to the big day. That said, the list of goodies seems a lot shorter than those in the Summitsoft Package. And here too, one Mac owner's review exasperatedly claimed that the developers were absentee when she tried contacting them about her problems with the database going corrupt. So of the two questionable options of wedding planning software for Macs, this might be the lesser choice.
Wedding Planning Software for Macs: Any other options?
A number of wedding planning software packages available for Windows get questions about when they're coming out with a Mac version. Wedding Magic from Frogware addresses the topic in their FAQ and claim that their own software creation system is unable to produce Mac software but they recommend using Virtual PC or a Windows emulator program as a workaround. As of this writing, there's just a gap in the market, and Apple devotees don't have many choices when it comes to spiffy wedding planning software for Macs. At least there's always the good old spreadsheet!

more users than not on amazon.com's review of summitsoft say that it does not work on macs, and/or it crashed and lost a lot of information. also they mention that the tech support is nonexistent or weakly responsive and basically useless
