Wedding Shower Games

No Fuss, Inexpensive Prizes

S. H. Mills
There is plenty to do when you are planning a wedding shower. Invitations, food, beverages, and decorations really start to add up. But, what is a shower without games and prizes?

Giving out prizes is a great way to encourage people to get involved in the games so you can break the ice and get your guests to interact with each other, but that doesn't mean the prizes have to be expensive or take a lot of time to put together.

Here are ten great ideas for prizes:

1. A nicely scented votive candle in a pretty holder

2. A glass bowl with a package of potpourri

3. A glass candy dish with lid

4. A bud vase

5. An emery board, bottle of nail polish, and travel size polish remover

6. Stationary

7. An address book with a pen

8. A change purse

9. Scented hand lotion

10. A paperback novel

Most of these items can be purchased at a dollar store, or other discount store. Wrap the prizes in clear or colored cellophane and tie them with a pretty ribbon. Cover an open box with foil wrapping paper and arrange the prizes inside.

Wrapping the prizes makes them more attractive, and using cellophane allows your guests to see what is available so they can choose something they will enjoy.
