Wedding Table: How to Make Beaded Topiary Name Place Setting Cards

Pam Parent
Beaded topiary name place setting cards will add beauty and elegance to the wedding tables. Each topiary is displayed on a small candlestick with the name of the guest beautifully tied to the center. These topiary place setting cards are perfect for any style wedding. The bead colors can be changed to adapt to different wedding venues. Instead of white pearls, use pink or gold pearls for a Victorian wedding, and green pearls for a casual, beach or nature-themed wedding. These place setting cards also makes a lovely keepsake for each wedding guest.

Beaded Topiary Name Place Setting Card

Supplies:

Embossed heavy card stock
Paper punch
Spray glue
White glitter
Thin white ribbon
Scissors
1 1/2 yards of white pearls on a string
Small candlestick
Small Styrofoam cone
4 mini white silk rose buds
Glue gun and glue sticks
Black sharpie marker
Ruler

Directions:

1. Cut a mini 3" x 2" name tag from the embossed card stock. Write the name of each guest centered in the middle of the card with a black Sharpie marker. Glue a rosebud to each corner of he place setting card. Punch a hole at the top, center of the card. Tie the name place setting card to the stem of the candlestick with the white ribbon. Trim ends of the ribbon.

2. Glue the beginning string of pearls to the top of the cone. This will be the beginning of the beaded topiary. Continue to tightly wrap the pearls around the entire cone. When you reach the end of the cone, cut the string of pearls, then glue this end to the bottom of the cone. Place the cone on a covered work area. In a well ventilated room, carefully spray the cone with adhesive glue, then lightly sprinkle the glitter over the beaded topiary. Let dry. When the topiary is completely dry, gently shake to remove excess glitter.

3. Place the beaded topiary on the candlestick. You can leave this beaded topiary as is, simple and elegant, or embellish with small silk flowers and other beading detail. I sometimes sporadically glue rosebuds throughout the topiary for added elegance.

When the beaded topiary name place setting cards are completed, place them in front of each table setting at the wedding tables. They also look lovely placed on crocheted doilies, or on a table that has a lace tablecloth.

Small 3 inch Styrofoam cones needed to make the topiary name place setting cards for this wedding project can be found at www.thecraftplace.com for 95 cents.
