Wedding Table Centerpiece Ideas for Your Winter Wedding

Winter weddings are beautiful and magical. Bring the beauty of winter decorating to your wedding table centerpieces.

Winter weddings are really divided into two categories; those that incorporate the holiday festivities that winter brings and those that do not. It doesn't matter which one you choose. It is personal preference. Either way there are many beautiful table centerpiece ideas for winter weddings.

Before you start you will need to pick a palette of colors for your event. Popular choices include the obvious bright red and dark green true to Christmas celebrations and also ice blues and whites reminiscent of snowflakes and icicles. However, there are many other options as well. Try colors that are warm and cozy like hot chocolate brown and fireplace brick red. Or do something a bit different like crystal snow white and delicate pink.

Once you have picked your colors and your theme you can choose centerpieces that match. Classic winter holiday choices include poinsettias in pretty pots or garlands of holly winding through tall pillar candles.

For tall centerpieces try spray-painting bare branches silver and prop them upright in a tall heavy container to avoid tipping. Then hang delicate ornaments from the branches. Try all one color like white or silvery pink. You can mix up to three colors together. Try jewel tones for a rich and elegant look, bright colors for a festive look or pastels for a winter wonderland feel.

Ornaments can also be used in unexpected ways. Try piling them in a basket or spilling out of a cornucopia. Ornaments can double as guest favors as well. Have your initials and wedding date or a special message embossed on each ornament and then invite your guests to take them home. They will cherish these each holiday season when they get out their decorations.

You can also use fresh flowers in the wintertime. Florists can have almost any flower shipped to them any time of the year. Be aware that this will cost extra and ask your florist what is easy to get in colder months if you are trying to save money. White roses are very elegant. Although they are a bit pricey they won't need any embellishment, just a simple container.

Potted indoor plants can also be used and then given to guests at the end of the evening. Look for colors that match your theme and put them in personalized pots. Buy simple containers and paint them yourself using stencils from a craft store or just tie them with pretty ribbon.

Other than making sure the centerpieces don't obstruct your guest's view across the table there are no rules. You can be as creative or as simple as you want with your centerpieces for your winter wedding.
