Weeds Season 6 Episode 6 Brings Out the Mama Lion in Nancy Botwin

Weedsseason 6 episode 6 begins where the last episode left off--in a Seattle hotel room with the irrepressible Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) facing trouble on three fronts. We continue to see Nancy get her hands dirty to protect her on the run family. As much as Nancy has gone into protective mama mode, it's serial-killer-in-the-making Shane who once again saves the day.

Getting out
The episode six opening scene shows a naked uncle Andy (Justin Kirk) dealing with child protective services. He manages to find pants and to explain how him and baby Stevie crossing pee streams is kosher.

Meanwhile, Nancy is in the bathroom trying to locate her kidnapped son Shane (Alexander Gould). She is also dealing with the hotel maid she beat up, who is banging on the bathroom door. Nancy finally snaps and, deciding the woman is too noisy, puts her in a headlock.

Oldest son Silas (Hunter Parrish) walks in and insults an interpreter in sign language. Despite this, the Botwins manage to get rid of child services with a promise to check in the next day. It's clear the Botwin's undercover days as the Newmans are numbered.

On the way to meet her drug cartel leader and Mexican politician husband's paid goon Caesar (Enrique Castillo) at a skeet ball museum, Nancy listens to Silas propose they trade baby Stevie for Shane. She tries to admonish him that the baby is his brother, but Silas counters with a fairly accurate, "Stevie's a time bomb."

One of the most shocking parts of Weeds season 6 episode 6 occurs when Nancy enters the museum. What appeared to be a swaddled baby Botwin in her arms turned out to be a crossbow. She shoots an arrow into Caesar's leg, causing him to drop his gun.

in as team Newman/Botwin backup...after they eat.

In a huge coincidence, Shane, former neighbor and also kidnapped Doug, and kidnapper/killer/friend Ignacio (Hemky Madera) are in the same restaurant. Doug pretends to go to the restroom, but doesn't have the cojones to escape. Oblivious, Shane and Ignacio compare first kills. Doug returns and Andy goes in search of his french toast, resulting in all of Nancy's guys being held captive by Ignacio.

Back at the museum, Nancy is having trouble getting Caesar to disclose Shane's location. She finally gets tricky and calls his wife. Nancy tries to appeal to the woman as a mother, but she tells Caesar to kill her and come home for dinner. Guess Nancy isn't the only wife who can handle a killer criminal spouse. A brief taste of karma perhaps?

But on Weeds, things have a way of working out for Nancy Botwin. Ignacio calls Caesar, revealing where Shane is.

At the diner, Shane and Ignacio continue to try to psycho out bad-ass each other. Nancy walks in and sits down, pointing a gun at Ignacio's privates. He doesn't believe she will shoot and also has a gun on her.

The tables quickly turn, when Shane comes to his mother's rescue. Bless his little psychopath heart. A quick stare-down with Ignacio is all it takes to convince the man that, friend or not, Shane will shoot to kill.

Outside the diner, the thug hugs Shane and urges him to follow his dreams.

Driving through the night, Nancy calls her husband and asks him not to punish Caesar. She explains to him that their baby needs her, the mother, more. She promises to speak well of him. Of course we all know this isn't the end to the hunt for the Botwins.

Weeds, season 6, episode 7 continues with the Botwins on the run. Nancy decides it's time her family had some normal fun and takes them to a fair. Andy enters a contest to eat butter head sculptures. Doug, who for some unfathomable reason is taking care of the baby, buddies up to the carnies. Nancy and Shane ride a roller coaster, where the picture taken of her may get the family discovered again. Watch this episode of Weeds on Showtime, October 4, 10 p.m. EST.
