Weeds: Season Two Spoilers

John Vann
Tensions really begin to rise between Nancy and Peter when the DEA agent informs her of his plans for a raid on Heylia James' house. Nancy tips her off however, and the entire place is clean before the DEA raid even begins. This makes Peter look like a failure in front of his superiors and peers at the agency, which prompts him to wiretap her phone and eventually uses his power to blackmail the marijuana growing couple - he wants all of the money from their last crop, or else.

In the meantime, Andy's crazy ex-girlfriend Kat (played by Zooey Deschanel) shows up from Alaska; she is on the run from an Eskimo bounty hunter and attempting to rekindle the flame between her and Andy. Celia admits to her husband Dean that she is having an affair with Doug, and that she wants an affair.

Celia does this with the agreement that Doug Wilson will divorce his wife too, and Dean kicks her out of his house. Their daughter Isabelle (Allie Grant) stays at home with her father. However, unbeknownst to Celia, Doug backed out at the last minute, and never split up with his wife.

Amidst growing family troubles, Nancy admits to her youngest son Shane (Alexander Gould), who is about to graduate from elementary school that she is in fact a drug dealer, and expresses her desire to relocate the family out of Agrestic; this is when Silas (Hunter Parrish) runs away from home. When he's gone Nancy finds all of the missing cameras and drug free zone signs from Celia Hodes' campaign in his bedroom.

These events all lead up to a stunning season 2 finale, where Celia spots Silas on video tape stealing her cameras, and confronts Nancy with the evidence. In order to pay off Peter's blackmail demands, Nancy and Conrad agree to sell their entire stash to a family friend of Conrad and Heylia named U-Turn (played by Page Kennedy). However, U-Turn and his partner, Marvin (Fatso Fasano), have no clue of paying cash for the drugs - instead they show up at the grow house strapped with fully loaded automatic weapons.

While his mom goes to the drug house to take care of business, Shane leaves his elementary school graduation party with Kat in Andy's stolen van. Kat promises to bring Shane to Pittsburgh, his dream destination for quite some time.

As a showdown ensues inside the grow house, outside the Armenians catch Peter off guard. Two of them enter his car, one on each side and drive him into a garage where he is quickly executed. Without anybody else's knowledge, Heylia had hired the Armenian gang to take care of Peter in order to get her nephew Conrad out of trouble; for payment they want the last stash of Nancy and Conrad's marijuana.

With guns pointed at them from both the Armenian gangsters and U-Turn and his partner, Nancy and Conrad open the safe that holds the marijuana. They find it completely empty however, with the exception of very telling sign - one of the drug free zone signs that had been stolen by Silas.

Nervously and left with no choice, Nancy calls her oldest son to find her marijuana before she is killed. But he has problems of his own when he's pulled over by Celia who is riding with the police. All of his mom's missing drugs are, of course, in the trunk of his car.

And just like that, Weeds season 2 comes to a wrap with the biggest cliffhanger of the season. It would be a full year before fans could find out the outcome of these monumental and jaw-dropping events. Mary Louse-Parker would later when a Golden Globe for "Best Performance by a TV Actress in a Musical or Comedy" for her role as Nancy Botwin on the show.
