Week 1 - WR Rankings

1. Andre Johnson - Hou = Ind
With a potential offensive shootout in store for this game, Johnson could be unstoppable for the Colts secondary. It would not be surprising if Johnson was able to tally 150 receiving yards and 1-2 touchdowns in this game. I would easily rank Johnson as the clear #1 WR in all fantasy football leagues this week.

2. Reggie Wayne - Ind = @Hou
Right behind Andre Johnson, Wayne should be in store for a very good stat day as well this week. However because of the plethora of scoring options for the Colts, Wayne is not quite as valuable to fantasy teams as Andre Johnson. 100-150 receiving yards and 1-2 touchdowns is well within reach for Wayne this week.

3. Calvin Johnson - Det = @Chi
With hopes rising for the Lions offense this season, Johnson could easily destruct the Bears secondary in this game. 100 receiving yards and 1 touchdown is very possible.

4. Randy Moss - NE = Cin
The contract issue has been brought up in recent days, so either Moss will be grumpy and not play well, or he will be grumpy and catch everything in sight. On the downside, the Bengals have two excellent cover corners in Leon Hall and Jonathan Joseph, so Moss does not exactly have a cupcake matchup. But all in all, I like Moss for a solid game this week. 75-100 receiving yards and 1 touchdown is possible.

5. Larry Fitzgerald - Ari = @StL
In a normal year with Kurt Warner at the helm, Fitzgerald could easily top out as the #1 ranked WR this week. However even with an outstanding matchup for Fitzgerald, a #5 ranking may even be a bit high for him right now as there are plenty of questions surrounding the QB play as well as Fitzgerald's injury concerns. Yet if Fitzgerald is healthy for this game, then 75-100 receiving yards and 1 touchdown is definitely possible.

6. Miles Austin - Dal = @Was
Overall a solid matchup for Austin and the Cowboys offense. 75-100 receiving yards and 1 touchdown is within reach.

7. Roddy White - Atl = @Pit
Extremely tough matchup for the Falcons offense, but White has the height and size advantage to tally a good chunk of receiving yards. 75-100 receiving yards is likely, and a touchdown is possible as well.

8. Brandon Marshall - Mia = @Buf
Solid matchup means Marshall could easily be ranked higher, but I'm willing to play is semi-cautious with him in this week and see how Chad Henne plays first.

9. Greg Jennings - GB = @Phi
Not a great matchup, but with Rodgers at QB, Jennings will always have the potential to tally 75-100 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

10. Johnny Knox - Chi = Det
May be a bit of a stretch to rank Knox this high, but with no dominant cornerback on the Lions defense, the speedy Knox is loaded with the potential to post outstanding week 1 stats. If the Mike Martz air attack is out in full force, Knox should be the primary beneficiary. Anything between 75-150 receiving yards is possible, and a touchdown or two is also well within reach.

11. Malcom Floyd - SD = @KC
Love this matchup for Floyd and the Chargers offense. It would not be surprising if Floyd busted out with 100 receiving yard and 1 touchdown in this game.

12. Jeremy Maclin - Phi = GB
After Charles Woodson, the Packers defensive backs have been getting chewed up by receivers. So with DeSean Jackson likely being tagged by Woodson all game, I would look for Maclin to be the main man for the Eagles offense in this game. In fact, I would not underestimate Maclin's potential for a huge game this week. 100 receiving yards and 1 touchdown is absolutely within reach, and even more is not impossible to fathom.

13. Marques Colston - NO = Min
While the Vikings defense is very good overall, their secondary is actually very young and not exactly all that special. Add in Drew Brees, and Brees could easily pick apart the Vikings secondary in this game. 50-100 receiving yards is likely, and a touchdown is possible as well.

14. Percy Harvin - Min = @NO
Harvin should see oodles of touches in this game. If your league counts return yards, then Harvin is even more valuable. Overall, I would look for something in the range of 50-100 total yards, with a touchdown possible.

15. Mike Wallace - Pit = Atl
With an excellent preseason under his belt, Wallace is ready to overtake veteran Hines Ward as the Steelers best fantasy football WR this season. 50-100 receiving yards and a touchdown could be in store.

16. Chad Ochocinco - Cin = @NE
The young Patriots defense could easily have problems with Ochocinco and Terrell Owens this week. 50-100 receiving yards is possible, and there is an outside chance at a touchdown as well for Ochocinco this week.

17. DeSean Jackson - Phi = GB
As is the case with Jackson in every game, all he needs to do is speed his way past a defender and he is off to the races and the endzone. Clear potential, but with Charles Woodson glued to his hip in the game, a decrease in total receiving yards is likely if Jackson does not break a deep one.

18. Dwayne Bowe - KC = SD
Likely nothing spectacular this week for Bowe, but decent potential for 50-100 receiving yards and a touchdown if all goes well.

19. Hakeem Nicks - NYG = Car
A pretty boring and quiet preseason for Nicks, but I still like him and his touchdown potential over teammate Steve Smith this week.

20 Jacoby Jones - Hou = Ind
Given this weeks matchup, I have no problem starting Jones as my WR2 this week. 50-100 receiving yards and a touchdown is possible.
