Week 10 *2010 Fantasy Football Keepers and Sleepers - Running Backs (RBs)* Week 10

Holy Peyton Hillis Batman! 184 yards rushing + 36 yards receiving + 2 touchdowns and all against New England. Arian Foster continued his excellent 2010 campaign with 127 yards to take the lead from Adrian Peterson for leading rusher, again. Aside from those two standout performances we got a ho-hum running back day for week 10. Michael Turner, Darren McFadden, and LeSean McCoy put up some good numbers as well. Abandon any running back on the Cowboys immediately and Jonathan Stewart got nothing but a concussion. Injuries and poor performances are thinning out the running back ranks as we head into week 10.

This is the last of the bye weeks with Green Bay, Oakland, San Diego, and New Orleans all sitting this one out. Oh and the wonderful NFL network only Thursday games start this week. You'll need to look elsewhere if you own McFadden, Bush (either one), Mathews, which is a good reason to read this article. Baltimore and Atlanta square off this Thursday which isn't so bad because you're going to start Ray Rice and Michael Turner regardless. It's the rest of week 10 you'll need help with.

I started writing this a little early so the Monday game hasn't been played yet. I did so-so in fantasy leagues for week 9 winning a little better than half. And that leads us to the 2010 fantasy football keepers and sleepers for week 10 running backs.

Keepers

1) Jahvid Best - A bit of a disappointment after his early spike in production might lead you to trade away this prodigal runner. Even with Kevin Smith easing his way into the offensive scheme I still think Best is the more explosive option. That and the Detroit Lions are facing the Buffalo Bills. Now after this game maybe you trade Best, maybe you don't but personally I'm holding onto him for the long haul. Best vs. Buffalo without Stafford should produce some nice yards and a TD.

2) Thomas Jones - Jamaal Charles gets all the glory and rightly so but let's not forget what Jones has done last year and half of this year (570 yds. 3 TDs). The Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Denver Broncos and I'm think the Chiefs pound the ball (like usual) but Jones averages more than the 1.7 ypc he had in week 9 + a TD. A good filler for a bye or an injury.

3) Matt Forte - He's been off and on this week and Chicago just barely scraped by a desperate Buffalo team in week 9. Nevertheless you should stick with Forte in what is turning out to be somewhat of a redemption year for him. Next up is the Minnesota Vikings. It's tough to tell how the energized Vikes will play but I think Forte gets his carries and his catches. All that and I think Forte helps out on your playoff push, definitely a keeper.

4) LeGarrette Blount - Wow. Who'd think that one carry for one yard would resonate with so many people? In case you missed it, Blount failed to convert a 4^th and 1 inside the Atlanta five yard line which would most likely have changed the outcome of the game. Woulda, coulda, shoulda. Doesn't matter now, what matters is that you keep Blount because he is the RB1 from here on out for the Bucs who face a depleted Carolina in week 10.

5) Ahmad Bradshaw - Last but definitely not last is Mr. Bradshaw. Look you already know you are going to start him but I'm telling you to go out and trade for him. This guy is third in the league in rushing and his backup (don't tell Jacobs that) is nowhere near his talent level. If you can pull the trigger and ride Bradshaw to the playoffs, do it. And do it soon, the Giants are playing the Cowboys and we all know how that game should go.

Sleepers

1) CJ Spiller - I'm in the camp (a very small camp) that believes Buffalo should have won more games this season by the way they played (think Minnesota Vikings and you'll know where I'm coming from. The Bills are the best 0-8 team in the league... um well they are a much better team than people give them credit for. All that convincing to get you to start CJ Spiller against the less potent Detroit Lions. This might be a gut call but I think Spiller gets some chances here and makes good with a few.

2) Kenneth Darby - Steven Jackson has a broken pinkie. Now Jackson is a tough dude and he's going to play but I think St. Louis cuts down on his workload a little and lets Darby tote the rock a few time. The 49ers have a better than average defense but I think Bradford keeps them honest and Darby gets some bye week filler yardage in and a TD.

3) Taschard Choice - Another gut call but the Cowboys are desperately looking for a change (they just fired Wade Phillips) and the Boys visit the Giants in the New Meadowlands Arena for some old fashioned rivalry football. I'm not a big believer in Kitna (I watched a little of two Cowboys games) but I'm guessing the others on the team are feeling pretty embarrassed about the state of events. I think the Cowboys come out swinging and Choice is the guy you want.

4) Chester Taylor - Facing his old team, the Minnesota Vikings, I think Taylor gets more involved in the offense. He score last week and he's and underappreciated overpaid running back with a chip on his shoulder to show the Vikes he was worth the money. Forte and Taylor change it up and this causes Cutler's interception frequency to drop. I don't love Taylor but I think you could do worse for the bye week, I think he scores again.

5) Beanie Wells - After keeping us in suspense (not really) about starting it appears that Wells is primed to make another start against the recently embarrassed Seattle Seahawks in sunny Arizona. The Cardinals can't be happy about losing to the ageless wonder. In a battle of the birds I'm saying Wells runs for some decent yardage and a two score (100+ and 2TD).
