Week 10 College Football's Game of the Week: LSU at Alabama

Week 10 college football offer few compelling match ups. The only marquee game is in the SEC when the Alabama Crimson Tide play hosts the Tigers of LSU at 3:30 ET next Saturday. Alabama coming off of a bye week enter the game with an undefeated 8-0 record with three of their wins over ranked teams. LSU comes in to Tuscaloosa with a 7-1 record with their only loss coming at the hands of the defending national champions the Florida Gators.

Both teams enter this game in the top 10 in the AP poll but LSU has had trouble getting their offense going at times. The Gator defense held the Tigers to only a field goal in their match up. LSU before their game with temple in week 9 were dead last in the SEC in total yards gained and tenth in the conference in scoring with 24.1 points per game. Alabama's offense has been more productive with 410 yards a game while scoring just under 32 ppg.

The key to the game for both teams is quarterback play. LSU's sophomore Jordan Jefferson has looked solid at times but has not been consistent game in and game out. Alabama has their share of quarterback problems with their junior Greg McElroy who has been virtually unproductive the two games going 18-29 for 120 yards and no touchdowns in their 12-10 home win against Tennessee which depended on a missed field goal by the Vols in the closing seconds of the game.

Alabama needs to get McElroy going early if they want to win this game. Look for the Tide to go the wide receiver screen to their all american Julio Jones in an attempt to build their quarterbacks confidence. If both teams are depending heavily on their running game this could be a very low scoring game and the team has the least amount of turn overs will probably win the game.

LSU is playing Tulane in week 9.. Not Temple.

You are an idiot. I feel stupider for having read this article. First of all, LSU is playing Tulane this week. Second, despite the fact that LSU will more than likely beat Tulane, writing an article that makes that assumption is asinine. Next time, do your research and be patient.
