Week 12: NFL Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups/Free Agents

Michael Luchies
#5. Emmanuel Sanders, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers (Owned in 2% of Yahoo! leagues)
Watch Sanders' situation with the Steelers closely. He has caught two touchdowns in the last two games and has moved past Randle El to claim the #3 WR position in Pittsburgh. if you have an extra bench spot and are in a deep league you may want to pick him up, should be a really good play by the time fantasy playoffs role around.

#4. Maurice Morris, RB, Detroit Lions (Owned in 2% of Yahoo! leagues)
A great sleeper to pick up right now! Kevin Smith is on IR for the rest of the season and Jahvid Best has been struggling with injuries for weeks. Morris can catch the ball out of the backfield and if Schwartz is smart he will rest Best for the most part of the upcoming two weeks. You may not like the matchup against the Patriots this Thursday, but picking up Morris right now makes a lot of sense.

#3. Rusty Smith, QB, Tennessee Titans (Owned in 0% of Yahoo! leagues)
This rookie will be making his first ever NFL start this upcoming weekend and is lucky enough to face the worst pass defense in the entire league, the Houston Texans. Although many will be too nervous to start Rusty over a proven quarterback, leagues with two QB spots should give a serious look at Mr. Smith, especially because of the favorable matchup against the Texans.

#2. Mike Goodson, RB, Carolina Panthers (Owned in 31% of Yahoo! leagues)
Goodson would be getting a lot more attention if it wasn't for the fact that he plays for the Panthers. Due to constant injury problems, the Panthers have resorted to starting Goodson at running back who has cashed in on the opportunity. Two 100+ yard rushing games in a row and an upcoming matchup against the Cleveland Browns makes him a must to pickup this week and you should probably give him the start depending at your options in the R/WR spot.

#1. Keiland Williams, RB, Washington Redskins (Owned in 37% of Yahoo! leagues)
Williams got another chance to show what he can do as Clinton Portis was injured once again this last Sunday. Williams has proven himself averaging 4 yards per carry and also has been a threat to catch balls out of the backfield. Expect Williams to have a great game against the struggling Vikings and he is a start in every league.

CHECK THIS: Remember Vincent Jackson is coming back into the picture this weekend! I was just able to pick him up in several of my leagues do to other players not realizing this. He is at 59% ownership, which is too high to place him on my list, but make sure to add him if still a free agent and start immediately!

Another pickup to consider: Colt McCoy is still only taken in 8% of leagues and is facing the Panthers this week, may be a solid week to pick him up if your QB is struggling or facing a tough matchup.
