Week 13 --- QB Rankings --- RB Rankings --- WR Rankings --- TE Rankings --- Defense Rankings --- Waiver Wire Pickups --- NFL Picks & Predictions
.
QUARTERBACK
14. Carson Palmer - Oak = @Mia 62 ----- Still hanging around on the waiver wire in nearly 40% of fantasy football leagues, Palmer should be considered a solid QB2 at this point in the season. A matchup against an average Miami Dolphins defense could have Palmer flirting with 225 passing yards and 1 touchdown.
17. Matt Moore - Mia = Oak 13 ----- Moore just simply has the hot hand right now, and with guys like Brandon Marshall, Reggie Bush, Anthony Fasano, and Davone Bess all doing their jobs, there is little reason to believe that Moore will not have another solid outing this week against the Oakland Raiders. 225 passing yards and 1 touchdown.
19. Alex Smith - SF = StL 49 ----- Fantasy football lineups are all about matchups, and this weeks matchup definitely suits Alex Smith. With Michael Crabtree getting healthy, Vernon Davis finally showing signs of life, Frank Gore running the ball well, and maybe even Braylon Edwards making an appearance, the potential for Smith in this game could clock in at 200-225 passing yards and 1-2 touchdowns.
20. Matt Hasselbeck - Ten = @Buf 54 ----- The Bills defense is extremely injury riddled with several key starters out, and that always offers potential for opposing offenses. I'm not going to say Hasselbeck will be great in this game, but there is potential for him.
24. Caleb Hanie - Chi = KC 4 ----- In deep deep leagues, Hanie is worth the gamble this week against an average Kansas City defense.
.
RUNNING BACK
23. CJ Spiller - Buf = Ten 63 ----- Nothing pops out and says, "yes this is going to be the game that Spiller finally breaks out." However if you are in need of a starting RB for your lineup this week, you could probably do a lot worse than taking a flyer on the 63% owned Spiller this week.
27. Felix Jones - Dal = @Ari 56 ----- With the way the Arizona Cardinals defense gives up yards and points, it would not be surprising if both DeMarco Murray and Felix Jones rack up over 100 total yards each in this game. Plenty of upside for the 56% owned Jones this week. Solid flex starter.
33. Marion Barber - Chi = KC 24 ----- Now that Jay Cutler is out, the Bears are obviously going to run the ball a lot more as the season winds down. Expect Barber to get 5-10 carries for 40 yards and a goal line TD is easily within reach.
38. Javon Ringer - Ten = @Buf 14 ----- The Buffalo Bills clearly give up their share of yards and points to opposing offenses, and Ringer is one RB who could easily surprise with a nice stat line this week. 50 rushing yards and 1 touchdown is possible.
39. Toby Gerhart - Min = Den 33 ----- If Adrian Peterson is out again this week, look for Gerhart to rack up something in the range of 75 rushing yards, and a touchdown is possible as well. If Peterson plays, Gerhart will likely become irrelevant as a starting option in fantasy lineups.
53. Marcel Reece - Oak = @Mia 1 ----- Depending on Darren McFadden's possible return to the lineup this week, Reece should continue to see a handful of plays. At just 1% owned, Reece is worth a flex start in deep leagues, especially if that team has Michael Bush starting as well.
72. Shane Vereen - NE = Ind 2 ----- Excellent matchup for the Patriots offense this week, and it would not be surprising if they were able to rack up 50 points in this game. In other words, there should be a lot of offensive yards and touchdowns to go around for the Patriots in this game. Vereen could see 5-10 touches for 30-60 yards, and a touchdown is possible.
.
WIDE RECEIVER
17. Michael Crabtree - SF = StL 52 ----- The Crabtree finally seems to be getting healthy and ready to play some vital football for fantasy teams down the stretch right now. A matchup against the lowly Rams could easily net Crabtree 100 receiving yards and 1 touchdown in this game.
26. Johnny Knox - Chi = KC 31 ----- Showing a good report with new QB Caleb Hanie in last weeks game, Knox is a speedster who always has the potential to rack up a long TD catch. I personally like Knox over teammate Earl Bennett if you are choosing between Bears WRs this week.
35. Earl Bennett - Chi = KC 40 ----- Depending on who the Chiefs top defensive back Brandon Flowers covers, either Bennett or teammate Johnny Knox will have the better matchup and potential to rack up some catches and receiving yards in this game.
37. Damian Williams - Ten = @Buf 23 ----- If Matt Hasselbeck is healthy and throwing the ball well, there is plenty of potential for Williams to exploit the injury riddled Bills secondary in this game.
42. Vincent Brown - SD = @Jac 15 ----- As defenses continue to focus on shutting down the other WR named Vincent in San Diego, this Vincent should continue to get the better matchup and likely get open more often.
44. Davone Bess - Mia = Oak 22 ----- With Matt Moore throwing the ball well, and defenses concerned about Brandon Marshall, Bess is the guy who is often open in the secondary.
45. Darrius Heyward-Bey - Oak = @Mia 22 ----- Slowly building a connection with Carson Palmer.
46. Braylon Edwards - SF = StL 18 ----- If Edwards ever gets healthy, this would be the week he could take full advantage.
71. Louis Murphy - Oak = @Mia 1 ----- With the Oakland Raiders offense clicking, Murphy has just as much potential as any Raiders WR right now.
82. Jason Hill - Jac = SD 4 ----- Granted the Jacksonville Jaguars passing attack is downright awful with Blaine Gabbert right now, but then again the San Diego Chargers defense is equally as bad. Somethings gotta give.
89. Chaz Schilens - Oak = @Mia 1 ----- See Louis Murphy.
.
TIGHT END
14. Jake Ballard - NYG = GB 46 ----- The Packers defense will no doubt give up plenty of yards to Eli Manning and company in this game, and considering that the Packers top cover starting linebackers were injured in last weeks game, you have to believe that there is extra potential for Ballard this week.
15. Brent Celek - Phi = @Sea 36 ----- A matchup against the Seattle Seahawks just is not intimidating for Celek and the Eagles passing attack in this game.
17. Anthony Fasano - Mia = Oak 4 ----- Always a TD threat, Fasano has plenty of potential to tally 40 receiving yards and 1 touchdown in this game.
18. Ed Dickson - Bal = @Cle 24 ----- Depending on if the Ravens once again go to the air rather than pound it on the ground with Ray Rice, Dickson could find himself racking up plenty of catches and yards in this game. At just 24% owned, Dickson is an outstanding high upside TE in fantasy lineups this week.
19. Jermaine Gresham - Cin = @Pit 38 ----- One of Andy Dalton's favorite dump off targets, Gresham should continue to see a good numbers of passes his way as the Steelers pressure defense forces Dalton to get rid of the ball quicker.
20. Jacob Tamme - Ind = @NE 2 ----- The Patriots give up plenty of passing yards, and Tamme is a nice dump off target in that Colts offense.
21. Scott Chandler - Buf = Ten 34 ----- With Ryan Fitzpatrick coming back to life in last weeks game, the upside for Chandler this week just rose significantly.
28. Kellen Davis - Chi = KC 0 ----- A touchdown machine over his career, all Davis does is simply come in and catch TD passes. After racking up his 4th of the season in last weeks game with Caleb Hanie at the helm, this weeks matchup against the Chiefs offers plenty of potential for Davis to once again find himself in the endzone.
.
DEFENSE
5. New England Patriots = Ind 60 ----- Per usual, any defense facing the Indianapolis Colts should be considered a top 10 defense for the week. This week the Patriots get the lucky straw.
11. Oakland Raiders = @Mia 29 ----- Right now it seems that the Raiders are just clicking on all cylinders. A matchup against a hot Miami offense does pose a problem, but there is still plenty of reason to believe in the Raiders defense this week.
14. Washington Redskins = NYJ 21 ----- With the way Mark Sanchez turns the ball over, and the ability of the Redskins defense to apply pressure on the QB and rack up sacks, this could be a surprisingly successful day for the Washington Redskins defense in this game.
15. Miami Dolphins = Oak 9 ----- Not a great matchup for the Dolphins defense this week, but they still deserve some credit as they are definitely underrated.
16. Tennessee Titans = @Buf 21 ----- Two weeks ago this might have looked like an excellent matchup for the Titans defense, but after Ryan Fitzpatrick's solid play in last weeks game, this matchup suddenly became a little tougher for the Titans this week.
17. Minnesota Vikings = Den 14 ----- Yes all Tebow does is win right now, but he Vikings are great at stopping the run and not great at stopping the pass. This just does not seem like a good matchup for the Broncos run heavy offensive attack in this game.
23. Denver Broncos = @Min 14 ----- The Broncos are hot right now and playing with tons of confidence. Add in the pressure defense that Von Miller and a healthy Elvis Dumerville have been able to apply lately on opposing QBs, and the rookie Christian Ponder could be in for a long day.
