Week 14 Fantasy Waiver Wire Pickups for the Playoffs

The NFL season is coming to a close as are most fantasy leagues, and the week 14 fantasy waiver wire pickup list is one of the more promising in a while.

There are a handful of players that can make a solid difference for many teams and games could be won and lost based on who picks up, or in some cases has already picked up, some of these key players that aren't as well known as fantasy waiver wire pickups.

Here are some of the top players to keep an eye on as you scour your league to see which players are available and which aren't.

Week 14 Fantasy Waiver Wire Pickups: QB's

Among the top signal callers to consider are Matt Moore of Miami, who plays at home against Philadelphia this week, and Christian Ponder of Minnesota, who put up big yards against Denver last week.
Ponder is a boom or bust selection as far as week 14 fantasy waiver wire pickups go but he could have a big game against an injury-ravaged Detroit secondary if the Vikings can block for him.
Moore also has a favorable matchup this week.

Running Back Among Week 14 Fantasy Waiver Wire Pickups

Matt Forte's injury last week means that Marion Barber is likely to step up and fill his role for the playoff-contending Chicago Bears. Barber has been effective in limited action and the Bears will want to run it more to protect QB Caleb Hanie who is still not quite comfortable. Barber is one of the best week 14 fantasy waiver pickups for sure.

Receiving Targets as Week 14 Fantasy Waiver Wire Pickups

Also in the fold are receivers including Chaz Schillens, Demaryius Thomas, Andre Roberts and Malcom Floyd. Floyd is the preferred choice here because he's explosive when healthy and he's getting back to that point, making him a top fantasy waiver wire pickup.
Schillens is a little risky but he could be a favorite target of Carson Palmer.
Most surprising last week was Andre Roberts' 100+ yard day on six catches for Cardinals. It's tough to tell if he's a flash in the pan or not but Kevin Kolb and the Cardinals are likely to sling it a round a lot down the stretch.
That alone makes Roberts an intriguing week 14 fantasy waiver wire pickup for players.
