Week 14 NFL Game Predictions

Weekly Prediction for NFL Games

Chris Matteson
Pittsburg Steelers at Cleveland Browns:

The Steelers are appearing to be getting soft this last half of the season. They collapsed in the fourth quarter last week and allowed the Raiders to take it down the field and earn the game winning touchdown. The Browns aren't doing very well this year; they had a good game last week against the Chargers, but couldn't pull out a win. If the Steelers play like they did last week, the Browns might have a chance; however, I think the Steelers should be able to end their four-game losing streak.

Steelers 27, Browns 21

New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons:

Last week the Saints squeaked by the Redskins in overtime. Drew Brees played under his averages for the year thus far, but I think it was just a one-week mishap. The Falcons were without their star quarterback and star running back last week and their offense was only able to put 7 points on the board. Without them this week against the Saints, they might have troubles moving down the field again.

Saints 31, Falcons 23

Detroit Lions at Baltimore Ravens:

The Lions don't have a chance at making the playoffs, but they will be trying to eliminate teams from the wildcard chase. The Ravens had a hard time on Monday night against the Packers. They almost had as many penalty yards (135) as they did total offensive yards (185). A majority of these penalties came from pass interference calls. This week against the Lions, they might be getting caught on the same path with Johnson as the wide-out.

Ravens 24, Lions 14

Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears:

In the opening week, Aaron Rodgers threw a game winning touchdown to Aaron Rodgers late in the fourth quarter. After the first week, which both teams had poor offensive performances, the Packers offense has really stepped up. But the Bears offense seems to have killed Jay Cutlers quarterback career. Cutler has the most interceptions in the league and the Bears have pretty much been eliminated from the playoff race.

Packers 24, Bears 17

Seattle Seahawks at Houston Texans:

The Seahawks upset the 49ers last week and are looking to carry the momentum into this last quarter of the season. They will be looking to pound the ball up the middle on the ground with Forsett. The Texans received a hard hit this week when they put Slaton on the IR because of his shoulder injury. Luckily for them, they have a great pass offense and should have the productivity to overcome the Seahawks.

Texans 24, Seahawks 10

Denver Broncos at Indianapolis Colts:

Denver is looking to stay ahead in the race for the wildcard. They will be utilizing Orton and his receivers to get the job done. The Colts will be looking to stay undefeated this week. Last week they defeated the Titans fairly easy; but this week they might have some more difficulty. The Broncos will need this win more than the Colts, and they will be playing as hard as they can.

Broncos 27, Colts 24

Miami Dolphins at Jacksonville Jaguars:

The Dolphins are coming off a huge win over the Patriots. The win didn't come cheap though; they might be without Joey Porter or Jason Taylor this week that have both missed practices this week. The Dolphins still have the opportunity at claiming their division if they outpace the Patriots in this last quarter. The Jaguars are also still alive in the race for the wildcard. They do not have a chance at claiming the division because the Colts have already secured it. The Jaguars defeated Houston last week, putting them in second place for the wildcard.

Dolphins 24, Jaguars 21

Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs:

The Bills have a slim chance at making the playoffs and the Chiefs have been eliminated from the playoff race. The Bills lost to the Jets last week and Fitzpatrick doesn't seem to be comfortable behind the center. Matt Cassel hasn't been as productive this year as they hoped, but that's mainly due to not having a running game, to compliment the ability to throw.

Bills 21, Chiefs 7

Cincinnati Bengals at Minnesota Vikings:

The Bengals have looked strong throughout the season. They've improved their running game and passing game greatly from last year. The Vikings got a boost this year from Brett Favre, but they lost last week against the Cardinals. Favre looked like a gunslinger, throwing for 2 interceptions that were key to their loss.

Bengals 27, Vikings 24

Carolina Panthers at New England Patriots:

The Panthers defeated the Buccaneers last week, but only by 10 points. This week they are playing against a much tougher Patriots team. The Patriots were also defeated last week. They lost to Miami because of Tom Brady interceptions.

Patriots 24, Panthers 17

New York Jets at Tampa Bay Buccaneers:

The Jets beat the Bills last week, but they didn't look very good. Sanchez sprained his knee towards the end of the game and that might affect his performance this week. The Buccaneers only win this year came against the Packers. They've come very close to winning multiple other games this year, but have been unable to pull through. This week might be there week to get win number 2.

Buccaneers 24, Jets 21

St. Louis Rams at Tennessee Titans:

The Rams are without their starting quarterback again this week and Steven Jackson is still a little sluggish from his injury. The Titans 5 game winning streak ended last week with a loss to the undefeated Colts. They should be able to rebound this week against the Rams.

Titans 28, Rams 10

Washington Redskins at Oakland Raiders:

Last week the Redskins almost pulled off an upset, but the Raiders did. The Redskins lost in overtime to the Saints, which could have easily been one if the game-winning field goal wasn't missed. The Raiders stunned the Steelers, marching the ball down the field for a game-winning touchdown.

Redskins 24, Raiders 17

San Diego Chargers at Dallas Cowboys:

The Chargers have been on fire the last few weeks. They have a potential Superbowl team (but that's what they say every year). The Cowboys have had a few tough losses, including one to the Giants last week.

Chargers 31, Cowboys 24

Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants:

Both teams are coming off victories and both are in the hunt for the wildcard. The Eagles have been great this year and have found that Vick can still be a good pocket quarterback as well as a scrambler. The Giants are coming off a victory against their division rival, the Cowboys. They will be looking forward to continue the momentum this week. This game is a toss-up, but I see the Eagles pulling away with it.

Eagles 27, Giants 24

Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers:

The Cardinals are coming off a great victory against the Vikings last week. They were able to move the ball down field and cause turnovers last week. The 49ers are coming off a tough loss against the Seahawks and will be looking to continue their playoff hopes with a win this week.

Cardinals 31, 49ers 21
