Week 14 - RB Rankings

Hawk Michaels
Week 14 RB Rankings - Start & Sit Advice. Week 14 RB Rankings are based on the best matchups and highest potential fantasy football point outcomes among all RB in Week 14. Use these Week 14 RB Rankings to help you decide which RB to start this week. If you have any comments or questions, you can post in the comment box below the rankings.

Week 14 - RB Rankings

1. Chris Johnson - Ten = StL
In his quest for 2,000 rushing yards, this weeks matchup against a lowly Rams defense that has given up an average of 146 rushing yards per game this year, could net Johnson 150 plus rushing yards to add to his season total. 100-150 rushing yards, 1-2 touchdowns.

2. Rashard Mendenhall - Pit = @Cle
Excellent matchup for Mendenhall, as the Raiders defense has given up an average of 158 rushing yards per game this season. With playoff hopes on the line for Pittsburgh, you can rest assured that the Steelers starters will play the entire game this week. 100-150 rushing yards, 1-2 touchdowns.

3. Thomas Jones - NYJ = @TB
Another premiere fantasy RB with an outstanding matchup this week, Jones takes on a Tampa Bay defense that has given up an average of 160 rushing yards per game this season. Expect similar stats to what Chris Johnson and Rashard Mendenhall could put up this week. 100-150 rushing yards, 1-2 touchdowns.

4. Ray Rice - Bal = Det
Ok for real now, with fantasy playoffs beginning this week in many leagues, Rice is another premiere RB who has an outstanding matchup this week. 150 total yards and 1-2 touchdowns are a definite possibility.

5. Maurice Jones-Drew - Jac = Mia
MJD has struggled in recent weeks, but he is just too good of an overall fantasy RB to rank him any lower. You never know when he will bust out a huge game, so stick with your stud this week and keep MJD in your lineup. Unless of course you have two of the other RBs listed above. 100 total yards, 1 touchdown.

6. Jamaal Charles - KC = Buf
Based on his matchup against the worst run defense in the entire NFL this season, the Buffalo Bills defense allows a mind boggling 172 rushing yards per game this season, Charles is one RB you definitely want in your starting lineup this week. If you want a safe play with huge potential at RB this week, I'd rank Charles above Jones-Drew at #5 in these rankings. 100-150 total yards, 1-2 touchdowns.

7. Joseph Addai - Ind = Den
Already with 12 total touchdowns for Addai this season, there is no way you can bench him right now. With Donald Brown still nursing injuries, Addai as the full time RB for the Colts has been money in the bank for fantasy teams in recent weeks. However if you are looking for 100 rushing yards, I don't see Addai coming close to that this week, as he hasn't topped more than 79 rushing yards in a single game this season. I'd expect numbers in the range of 50-80 rushing yards, with 1 touchdown a near guarantee.

8. Ricky Williams - Mia = @Jac
With Chad Henne passing for 335 yards and 2 touchdown last week against the New England Patriots, you have to believe more running lanes will be opening for Ricky Williams this week, as the Jaguars defense must respect the pass. 100 total yards and 1 touchdown is possible.

9. Ryan Grant - GB = @Chi
A mid-December game in Chicago could lead to an abundance of rushing attempts for Grant in this game. With Chicago's defense allowing 126 rushing yards per game this year, and possibly without linebacker Lance Briggs again this week, Grant could easily see 25-30 carries while tallying 80-120 rushing yards and 1 touchdown.

10. Cedric Benson - Cin = @Min
Benson came back and looked fully healthy last week as he was able to rack up 110 rushing yards on 36 attempts. A matchup against a stout Vikings defense that has allowed just 84 rushing yards per game this year doesn't look good, but Benson has proven that he can still get the job done no matter who the opponent this year. With games of 76 rushing yards and 1 touchdown against Pittsburgh's top ranked run defense this year, as well as 120 rushing yards and 1 touchdown against Baltimore, and later another 117 rushing yards and 1 touchdown against Baltimore in their second matchup this year, Benson is one RB you want to stick with this week. I'd expect numbers in the range of 60-90 rushing yards and 1 touchdown from Benson this week.

11. DeAngelo Williams - Car = @NE
Injury knocked him out of last weeks game, but if he can play in this game, a struggling Patriots defense could have Williams putting up solid stats this week.

12. Adrian Peterson - Min = Cin
If you think Cedric Benson has a tough matchup, then can you believe that the Bengals defense actually allows fewer rushing yards per game than the Vikings defense! At just 81 rushing yards allowed per game, the Bengals have a great opportunity to shut down Peterson much like the Arizona Cardinals did last week.

Hawk your slacking buddy. No Jamal Charles on that list are you kidding. I think you evaluated this list a little to fast its pretty weak on match up dependency and has some players ranked to high and some way to low.
