Week 16 NFL Picks and Predictions - Going Down the Home Stretch

Rodney Southern
With only two weeks remaining in the NFL regular season, every team is jockeying for playoff position or trying to play the role of spoiler. Every year, some upsets happen during this time frame. Picking those upsets during week 16 is tough, but I have a pretty good handle on who might do the deed. Here are your week 16 NFL picks and predictions:

Carolina at Pittsburgh

The Panthers proved last week that when they are moving the ball on the ground, they are a dangerous team. Though the final score was close, the Panthers handily defeated the Cardinals. Having said that, the Steelers are not the Cardinals. While this could easily be a trap game, the Steelers have too much on the line for that.

Winner - Pittsburgh Steelers

Dallas at Arizona

The Cowboys have been a completely different team since Jason Garrett took over, and this game should be no different. The Cardinals are pretty terrible.

Winner - Dallas Cowboys

Washington at Jacksonville

Rex Grossman certainly played well last week in the loss, and the Redskins seemed to find their offensive mojo. Still, they are not a team that is likely to go into Jacksonville and knock off a tough running team like the Jags.

Winner - Jacksonville Jaguars

Detroit at Miami

This game has all the makings of being a snooze fest.

Winner - Miami Dolphins

San Francisco at St. Louis

What a strange world the NFC West has become. Expect the Rams to finally take control this week with a huge win over the Niners.

Winner - St. Louis Rams

Tennessee at Kansas City

Kansas City is not going to let this one get away.

Winner - Kansas City Chiefs

NY Jets at Chicago

This is a slugfest that might just get really ugly really fast. The Jets responded in a big way last week and like Rex Ryans shoe fetish, they have had a very weird season. This week will be another up week.

Winner - NY Jets

New England at Buffalo

No upsets coming here.

Winner - New England Patriots

Baltimore at Cleveland

The Ravens are on a roll, and the Browns are getting rolled.

Winner - Baltimore Ravens

Houston at Denver

Houston has nose dived at the worse possible time. Denver wins one for the home crowd.

Winner - Denver Broncos

San Diego at Cincinnati

The Chargers certainly know when to turn on the jets. It is December, right?

Winner - San Diego Chargers

Indianapolis at Oakland

The Colts are in a very strange position here. Beat the Raiders and they are in. In past years, they would not be worried. This year, they just might be. Still, Peyton does what is needed.

Winner - Indianapolis Colts

NY Giants at Green Bay

The Giants and Green Bay is a tough game all the way around. No matter who is under center for the Pack it should be a rough day. Can the Giants rebound? I say yes.

Winner - NY Giants

Seattle at Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay will extract some frustrations on this poor Seattle club and give the Rams some breathing room in the West.

Winner - Tampa Bay Bucs

Minnesota at Philadelphia

Nobody is touching the Eagles now. Not until the playoffs, anyway.

Winner - Philadelphia Eagles

New Orleans at Atlanta

The Saints are going into Atlanta with bragging rights on the line in the South. Here is to step one being successful.

Winner - New Orleans Saints
