Here are my Week 3 picks.
Tennessee +2 ½
The New York Jets are 2-0. I knew this would be a big year for them. They are riding a high from beating the Patriots last week. The Titans are 0-2. Despite all that, I do not care about the records. Tennessee is the better team and will win outright. Call it a gut feeling. Take the points. ***
Tennessee 24, New York 20
Jacksonville + 4 ½
This will be a very close back and forth game. Either team can win. The difference will be a mere field goal. Since Houston is home, I'll give them the win, but I'll still take the points. **
Houston 23, Jacksonville 20
Baltimore -13
I hate taking huge favorites but how can you bet on Cleveland in this game. Joe Flacco and company are at home and should win in a romp. Baltimore wins from start to finish. Give up the points. ***
Baltimore 35, Cleveland 13
San Francisco +7
I like Minnesota but 7 points is just too much. This game will be Frank Gore versus Adrian Peterson. I believe Minnesota will scratch out a victory but not by 7. Take the points. **
Minnesota 28, San Francisco 24
Atlanta +4
New England is at home and angry but this is not the New England of old. They look vulnerable and should be 0-2. I believe in Tom Brady but Pats will only win by a last minute field goal. Take the points. **
New England 20, Atlanta 17
Detroit +6 ½
Yes, I am taking the Lions. Not only with the points, but to win outright. I believe there are 4 really bad teams - Detroit, St. Louis, Washington and Cleveland. If Detroit is going to win a game this year, this may be the one. I'll grab the 6 points in my favorite game of the week. *****
Detroit 31, Washington 28
Green Bay -6 ½
Don't bet on St. Louis unless they are playing one of the other three bad teams mentioned in my earlier pick. My second favorite pick of the week is the Packers in an old fashioned blow-out. Aaron Rodgers passes for 350 yards and 4 touchdowns. Give up any amount of points and take the Pack. *****
Green Bay 41, St. Louis 3
Chicago -1 ½
Seattle looked bad last week and Chicago looked good. But this is another week. I picked Chicago and Jay Cutler to go far this year so I'll stick with the Bears. It could be a close game. But, I'll give up the points and take the Bears. **
Chicago 24, Seattle 19
Buffalo + 4 ½
Both Buffalo and New Orleans have looked good this year. I'm really on the fence on this game. I love points and Buffalo is at home. Either team is capable of a win here. I think New Orleans wins in a shoot-out. But I will not bet this game. *
New Orleans 31, Buffalo 28
Cincinnati + 4 ½
I have to take the underdog who gets more than 3 points in a division game. That is my main betting rule. I like Pittsburgh to win in the end but it will be a close game. Take the points. ***
Pittsburgh 17, Cincinnati 14
Oakland -2 ½
Home teams in division races most often win by 3 points. Oakland is much improved. Denver is okay but this is a Monday night in Oakland. The Raiders win by more than 3. ****
Oakland 27, Denver 21
Kansas City + 9 ½
Philadelphia is good but 9 ½ points is a lot. Donovan McNabb is questionable. Can Michael Vick be a winner? I'm taking the points until I know more. **
Philadeliphia 28, Kansas City 26
New York -7
I'm actually just betting against Tampa Bay here. The Giants could have a let down but the Buccaneers are not a great team. I'll give up points. *
New York 30, Tampa Bay 17
Miami +7
San Diego needs a few more weeks to get things right. Take the Dolphins in a close game. I'll give The Chargers the win but it could go either way. I love 7 points in this game. ****
San Diego 27, Miami 26
Arizona +3
Indianapolis is over rated. So is Arizona. The Cardinals are at home. I give them the win. Take the points.
Arizona 31, Indianapolis 30
Dallas -9
I think Dallas will be angry enough to destroy Carolina in this game. The Panthers are so out of rhythm. Who is the quarterback there? Dallas will make Carolina pay for losing to the Giants. The Panthers have no answers. Give up the points. **
Dallas 31, Carolina 14

Post a CommentI've picked 22, too-- but not against the spread-- 10 right last week, 7 in week 1. Nice picks, but I'm definitely taking the points and Cleveland.
