Detriot Lions @ Chicago Bears (1:00 PM ET FOX) - Matthew Stafford looked confident and arrogant and he had a devilish grin as he led the Detroit Lions to their first win in 20 games in week 3 against the Washington Redskins. The Chicago Bears won't win this NFC North divisional matchup because of better quarterback play by Jay Cutler. Rather, the Chicago Bears will win because of better overall team play with the football. The Chicago Bears win at home.
Seattle Seahawks @ Indianapolis Colts (1:00 PM ET FOX) - My logic with the Indianapolis Colts is as long as they are led by Peyton Manning, they are a force to be reckoned with. The week 2 Colts win over the Dolphins (when the Colts held the ball less than 15 minutes), convinced me it will take a stellar quarterback to beat Peyton Manning anytime soon. Think week 10, when the Tom Brady quarterbacked Patriots will have shaken off the rust and travel to Indianapolis to play the Colts on Sunday Night Football November 15th. I just can't bet against Peyton Manning right now. Did you see him against the Cardinals? He'd step on the field, throw a TD, sit down on the bench and start reading something, which, from his demeanor, could have been a comic book. Indianapolis Colts win this NFL matchup because of Peyton Manning.
Tennessee Titans @ Jacksonville Jaguars (1:00 PM ET CBS) - The Tennessee Titans are a good team that is 0-3. They will not go 0-4 in the 2009 NFL season. The Titans will beat the jaguars in this AFC South divisional matchup.
New York Giants @ Kansas City Chiefs (1:00 PM ET FOX) - This NFL Matchup should unquestionably be won by the New York Giants. The only chance the Kansas City Chiefs have is special teams and turnovers and Eli Manning is the type of quarterback who can throw three interceptions in a game. New York Giants win on the road.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Washington Redskins (1:00 PM ET FOX) - The Washington Redskins just gave the Detroit Lions their first win in 20 regular season games. This NFC matchup will be won by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Baltimore Ravens @ New England Patriots (1:00 PM ET CBS) - I think the New England Patriots will be a playoff contender by the end of the 2009 season, but I don't think Tom Brady has enough in him to compete with the Baltimore Ravens just yet. The Ravens finally have an offense, led by 2nd year quarterback Joe Flacco, to go with their vaunted defense. Baltimore Ravens win on the road.
Oakland Raiders @ Houston Texans (1:00 PM ET CBS) - The ineptitude of the Oakland Raiders has become apparent since putting up a fight against the San Diego Chargers in week 1. The Houston Texans win this week 4 AFC matchup.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns (1:00 PM ET CBS) - The Cincinnati Bengals appear to be back and the Cleveland Browns seem to be as lost as ever. This AFC North divisional matchup will be won by the Cincinnati Bengals, led by Carson Palmer.
Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins (4:05 PM ET CBS) - Terrell Owens wore a spiffy outfit in his postgame conference after the Bills week 3 loss in which T.O. failed to catch a ball. Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins are - like the Tennessee Titans - a good looking 0-3 team that cannot go 0-4. The Miami Dolphins win this AFC East divisional matchup.
New York Jets @ New OrleansSaints (4:05 PM ET CBS) - This AFC/NFC matchup is one of the toughest of week 4 to call. It pits quarterback Drew Brees, who is on fire, against a swarming Rex Ryan Jets Defense. Both teams are undefeated. Randy Inman says to pick the home team - as he picked the Saints - when in doubt (which is generally pretty good advice), but I have to go with the Defense on this one. The New York Jets find a way to win under the leadership of head coach Rex Ryan and rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez.
Dallas Cowboys @ Denver Broncos (4:15 PM ET FOX) - The Denver Broncos are the worst 3-0 team in the National Football League. They have not been tested and still required an Immaculate Deflection to squeak by the rusty looking Bengals in week 1. The Dallas Cowboys will give the Denver Broncos their first loss, much overdue.
Saint Louis Rams @ San Francisco 49ers (4:15 PM ET FOX) - The 2-1 NFC West leading 49ers will give the St. Louis Rams their fourth loss in as many weeks this NFL season. Head Coach Mike Singletary has the 49ers on the right track, even if Frank Gore is injured. San Francisco 49ers win big at home.
San Diego Chargers @ Pittsburgh Steelers (8:20 PM ET NBC) - The Pittsburgh Steelers (1-2) need to win this potential AFC playoff matchup more than the San Diego Chargers (2-1) and they are at home. The Pittsburgh Steelers win a must win game at home.
Green Bay Packers @ Minnesota Vikings (Mon, 8:30 PM ET ESPN) - Monday Night Football will be buzzing in anticipation of a purple-jerseyed Brett Favre playing the Green Bay Packers. This NFC North Matchup is destined to be a thriller. It's hard to bet against this Minnesota Vikings team with running back Adrian Peterson, that offensive line, that defense and, oh, Brett Favre is still slinging around last second game-winning touchdown passes. In week 3, Brett Favre won the game against the 49ers in the last moments on a TD pass to wide receiver Greg Lewis. The Minnesota Vikings win this Monday Night Football NFC North matchup.
Week 4 Byes: Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles

Post a CommentDenver squeaked by a poor looking Bengals team in weak 1, then played the Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs. How do you have more faith in Kyle Orton than Tony Romo? Granted, Flozell Adams might kick his way to a Denver score, but the Broncos are the worst 3-0 team.
The Ravens are the best team in football. You think that Dallas can go to Mile High and beat Denver? Yes, Denver is a weak 3-0, but I don't have much faith in Romo to come through on the road. Orton is perfectly capable of managing the game. And what in the world has gotten into Cedric Benson? If only he could have done this at CHI - Da Bears would have a nasty 1-2 punch with Benson and Forte. Bears get NOTHING from their back up running backs.
I am glad that you welcome criticism (per your profile).
Week 4 is a must see...that Saints/jets game, Minn & Greenbay..if the Skins lose to Tampa..they gotta drag Zorn outta there by the scruff ;-) enjoyed the picks!
I can't wait for the Saints/Jets game.
