Week 4 NFL Picks and Predictions for Your Office Pool!

Week Four Picks Red Hot Edition- Look Out Leaders!

Rodney Southern
Week 4 NFL picks and predictions finds us feeling a bit of confidence building. In spite of some tough losses in my picks last week (Rams, Chargers) I am still feeling pretty good about the season moving forward. The NFL office pools across the nation are not a short race but a long one, and I get better as the season rolls on. Either way, week 4 has some very exciting and intriguing match ups. NFL picks are not an exact science, but I expect these week 4 NFL predictions to be spot on so use them with confidence.

Here are your NFL week 4 picks and predictions for your office pools:

SUN, OCT 3

San Francisco at Atlanta1:00 PMGeorgia Dome

Heads have started to roll already in San Francisco as the Niners have gotten off to a horrible start. Nobody expected the Niners to be this bad. As for the Falcons, they are riding about as high as a team can ride after a last minute Houdini act against the defending Super Bowl champion Saints. While the Niners are certainly a capable team that could put it together any week, this is not going to be the week it happens. The Falcons are at home and are built to give the Niners problems. (Tough D, effective passing game and powerful running offense) This one will be closer than some might think, but it will be a Falcon win all the same.

Winner - Atlanta Falcons

Cincinnati at Cleveland1:00 PMCleveland Browns Stadium

The Bengals looked less than stellar against the struggling Carolina Panthers last week and to be honest, should have lost that game. The Panthers literally handed over the game by dropping no less than five interceptions including two that likely would have been touchdowns. Whatever the case, it is clear that Carson Palmer is not himself yet. Against the Browns, it might be a problem in their stadium. If nothing else, the Browns have emotion on their side. In a shocker, I expect the Browns to pull out a win in spite of themselves in the Dawg pound.

Winner - Cleveland Browns

NY Jets at Buffalo1:00 PMRalph Wilson Stadium

The New York Jets looked pretty solid against the Dolphins in spite of the fact that they struggled. The Dolphins are one heck of a team so that is not a surprise. What is a surprise is that the Jets are getting All pro performances from Mark Sanchez. I truly did not see him being that good this season. Buffalo showed signs of life against the Patriots last week, but the Jets are rolling. I expect this one to be over early.

Winner - New York Jets

Seattle at St. Louis1:00 PMEdward Jones Dome

All hail the St. Louis Rams as they finally got Mr. Bradford his first NFL win. What most people outside of St. Louis do not realize is that the Rams are a few plays away from being 3-0 on the season. They had every chance to win in weeks one and two as well. That said, the Seahawks are much better than expected this season as well. After watching the Rams against the Redskins, I am going to buy in to this week two matchup and go with the Rams.

Winner - St. Louis Rams

Denver at Tennessee1:00 PMLP Field

The Titans can not seem to make up their minds. One week they rock and then they stink. Then they rock then they stink. What is dependable is Chris Johnson and the fact that they will easily handle the Broncos at home.

Winner - Tennessee Titans

Detroit at Green Bay1:00 PMLambeau Field

The Lions are heading into Green Bay at the wrong time-after a Green Bay loss to the Chicago Bears. This one will be ugly for sure.

Winner - Green Bay Packers

Baltimore at Pittsburgh1:00 PMHeinz Field

The Ravens and Pittsburgh is a game that I would love to attend in person. Talk about your smash mouth football teams...these two are the poster children for defense. I also know that the Steelers are particularly fond of young quarterbacks to attack. Enter Joe Flacco. This will be feast or famine. I expect the Steelers to eat him up and spit him out this week.

Winner - Pittsburgh Steelers

Carolina at New Orleans1:00 PMSuperdome

What was once considered an exciting match up has now become a train wreck looking to happen. No way can my beloved Panthers score enough to have a chance against the Saints. I expect improvement, but it will not be enough.

Winner - New Orleans Saints

Indianapolis at Jacksonville4:05 PMEverBank Field

The Colts are clearly the superior team here, but Jacksonville traditionally gives the Colts fits in Jacksonville. Still, I can not see Peyton losing this one.

Winner - Indianapolis Colts

Houston at Oakland4:05 PMOakland-Alameda County Coliseum

The Raiders actually are battling hard this season and good things are on the horizon. The Texans are already there, however.

Winner - Houston Texans

Washington at Philadelphia4:15 PMLincoln Financial Field

Donovan comes home. This will be a game for the ages as McNabb will light up the stadium. The problem is, Vick is going to light up the Skins even more. I think that Vick might be among the best in the league at this point. I never thought I would say that, but his numbers and results do not lie. A good game, but the Eagles will win this one.

Winner - Philadelphia Eagles

Arizona at San Diego4:15 PMQualcomm Stadium

This is a game where I do not really care for either team. I used to be a Charger fan but they are folding this season like a cheap tent at times. No way they should have lost that game last week. I do think they will recover in time for this game at home.

Winner - San Diego Chargers

Chicago at NY Giants8:20 PMNew Meadowlands Stadium

The Giants are doing their best to give away the season, but they are still in the running thanks to slow starts by the Cowboys. This game is a rubber game for them as another loss could really send them reeling. Unfortunately, the Bears are flying high. I expect Eli to recover the sinking ship and hand the Bears a tough loss.

Winner - New York Giants

MON, OCT 4

New England at Miami8:30 PMSun Life Stadium

The Patriots are sure to have their hands full against the Dolphins. Both teams are going to score points, but the Patriots are likely to score more. I expect Moss to put some major points on the board in this one.

Winner - New England Patriots

Score - Patriots 28 Dolphins 21•
Bye: Dallas, Kansas City, Minnesota, Tampa Bay

Week 3 Record - 9-7
Season Record - 26-22

Thanks! Will pass this onto hubby. Their small pool is only $180.00, but hey, it's money. BTW, I hope that you are wrong about the Browns.

Hope you are wrong about that Miami game.

Seattle is still an enigma to me, but it's hard to envision them losing to the Rams with Steven Jackson hurt. Beyond that, I'm afraid to admit I agree and think my Niners are going to go to 0-4 this week. They're really struggling with the deep pass, and now they're benching veterans in favor of rookies in the secondary. I think Roddy White is going to go beserk this week.

What? You're not picking the Niners? Ha ha. But they do have to win... eventually....
