Week 5 NFL Fantasy Defense Rankings

Defenses are important to play at the right times because bad matchups mean not a whole lot of points. Here is a list of the top ten defenses in fantasy football for NFL week 5.

Week 5 NFL Fantasy Defense Rankings

1. Tennessee Titans-

Baltimore will be an easy opponent for a fast young Titans defense and it will be a guaranteed low-scoring game.

2. Baltimore Ravens-

Perhaps Baltimore's excellent defense can force some turnovers from Kerry Collins, who hasn't been tested a whole lot so far.

3. Dallas Cowboys-

The Bengals are an error-prone team and Dallas can get to the quarterback well.

4. Carolina Panthers-

Not a great defense but Atlanta has rookie QB Matt Ryan on the road and a turnover-fest is possible.

5. San Diego Chargers-

Don't expect Miami to try their Ronnie Brown "Wild Dolphin" package or whatever you want to call it against the Chargers. Actually, they might try it but it won't work this time since they've seen it on film.

6. New York Giants-

Seattle has no outside receiving threats so Justin Tuck and co. should harass Matt Hasselbeck all day.

7. Pittsburgh Steelers-

Jaguars have a good but not great offense and the Steelers can D them up some.

8. Philadelphia Eagles-

Expect a lot of sacks but also some yards given up vs. Skins.

9. New England Patriots-

Ragtag Niners offense isn't ready for such a smart, fundamentally sound defense.

10. Indianapolis Colts-

Expect some sacks and big plays against Texans in an exciting game with lots of big plays.
