Heading into week 7 we have Indy, Detroit, NY Jets, and Houston on byes which leaves us without Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon, and Braylon Edwards. A huge loss of WRs for the byes so hopefully you are playing some of those guys but if not then don't worry I got you covered. You can scour the wire of perhaps tender a trade. Either way you'll be in better shape because you clicked on this article.
Last week was a relatively horrible week concerning fantasy football for me; yes I sat Calvin Johnson because he was injured...
Keepers
1) Johnny Knox - The Bears are playing the Skins in Soldier field and I think it's safe to say that Cutler's head is a little clearer now than last week. Knox leads the league in YPC over 20+ and is definitely Cutler's favorite target. Mix that in with the Redskins horrible secondary and you should see Knox torch them for 100+ yards (only about 5 catches) and a score. Prowl the trade market; you might be able to snag him due to Cutler's so-so status.
2) Chad OchoCinco - Matthew Berry is calling this a gut call and I'm calling this a call in general. I think Owens will be keeping the pressure off of the 85. Plus he sent a box of T-shirts to the Falcons with his face on it. The guy is always worth the ticket price and rarely ever disappoints... in antics... but fear not, Palmer is that bad is he? I think Chad grabs 10 catches for 114 yards and a score (using my fancy algorithm of fantasy worthiness).
3) Dwayne Bowe - A decent week last week and a favorable matchup this week. Bowe should be in line for some nice yardage against a weak Jags secondary. About 75-82 yards and a TD. However, Bowe is someone you want to keep around and you might be lucky enough to find him on the waiver wire. I could see trading for him and flying him on the bye weeks. He is still a legitimate target for Matt Cassel.
4) Percy Harvin - I've never been completely sold on Harvin but his value is great now that he is in the slot. I think he could be an excellent Welker and with Moss as a legitimate threat deep I think Harvin's value only increases. Plus you might get a return TD or two out of him. Harvin's value should increase big-time in PPR leagues as his reception count should go up. And this week's matchup against Green Bay should require Harvin's services more than normal.
5) Steve Smith - I wouldn't get rid of Smith just yet. Of course I'm talking about the 0-5 Carolina Steve Smith. Matt Moore isn't fantastic but he has a keen idea who Smith is. He's listed as probable this week against a so-so San Fran team. I think Smith breaks out in this game but Carolina still loses. IF you can swing a trade for him I'd pull the trigger now before he gets hot.
Sleepers
1) Mike Williams - He blew up last week for 123 yards. With Seattle's depleted WR corps I think Williams is a solid bet the rest of the year. This week he faces a mediocre pass defense in Arizona and I've got a hunch this game will be a shoot-out. The best thing is that Williams is most likely sitting on the waiver wire waiting for you to pick him up and plop him in your lineup for the bye week.
2) Steve Johnson - This Buffalo receiver is quietly putting together a respectable season on a very poor passing team. Fitzpatrick is no Trent Edwards and he'll air it out. With Lee Evans and C.J. Spiller attempting to keep defenses honest I think the game against Baltimore is a lot closer than people think. Don't get me wrong Buffalo loses but Fitzpatrick throws for 275+ yards and find Johnson in the end zone. Good bye week filler.
3) Michael Crabtree - It's a good thing for fantasy football that Mike Singletary decided to can the offensive coordinator. This should mean a return to relevance for Vernon Davis and Michael Crabtree. Alex Smith is no Sam Bradford but I think Crabtree will find the end zone against Carolina and put up some decent yards. I talked about him last week and this may be the last chance you get to trade for him, he's an excellent buy low guy.
4) Mike Wallace - Remember him? He was a sleeper during the draft that most likely went around the 10th-11th round. He was decent in a few games this season but should really stand out now that Ben Roethlisberger is back. He is an excellent deep threat and has a chance every game to execute the big play. This week against Miami I think he grabs a TD and about 80-100 yards receiving.
5) Danny Amendola - Tampa actually has a pretty good passing defense but Sam Bradford will throw the ball and Danny Amendola is going to be his target of choice. In PPR leagues Amendola is already showing his value with a nice number of receptions (36 on the year). That number will only increase and I think Amendola is a pretty close clone to Wes Welker. Throw him in a bye week and you shouldn't be disappointed.
