Week 7 NFL Predictions

Free Football Game Picks for Week 7 of the 2009 NFL Season

Randy Inman
If you are looking for game picks for week seven of the 2010 NFL season then clickthis link. Welcome to my week 7 NFL predictions, the latest in my efforts to aid sports gamblers. However, I don't do point spreads in my picks. But if you want to know who I would pick, give me the point spread in the comments below, and the game in question. I will reply within 24 hours with point spread predictions for the games asked about.

I did go 8-6 in my week 6 NFL predictions with still leaves me a respectable 63-25 for the 2009 NFL gambling season. Remember these are straight predictions for pro football games suitable for an NFL office pool. But as I said, ask me a question about handicapping a point spread game and I will do so in the comments. As always these are free NFL game predictions for the 2009 season.

Indianapolis at Saint Louis

The Rams will probably win a game this season, but not this week. Peyton Manning won't let the Colts let down for the Rams. Indianapolis 31, St. Louis 24.

New England at Tampa Bay

Look for the Patriots to try to establish the run against this poor defense. My free week 7 NFL prediction is the Patriots 24, Bucs 10.

Green Bay at Cleveland

The Packers are one of those teams who may make the playoffs, and may not. I would like to see Cleveland find ways to get Cribbs the ball on offense, as he is their best weapon. My free week 7 NFL prediction is Green Bay 24, Cleveland 10.

Minnesota at Pittsburgh

You hear lots about Brett Favre and the Vikings success. However this is a running team and Adrian Peterson is the key. The Vikings rank 17th in passing yards and 9th in running yards so far in the 2009 NFL season. Their defense is strong against the run and weak against the pass.

The Steelers are actually ranked 2nd in the NFL in passing offense! They are ranked 15th in running the ball which is the opposite of how they want their offense to work. The key is the Steeler Defense which ranks 2nd against the run. Of course they have not faced Adrian Peterson yet.

Close game and I am going with the home team. Big Ben lights up the Vikings with 300 yards and 3 scores. Peterson keeps it close with a dose of Brett Favre. Pittsburgh 28, Minnesota 24. I do expect one of you sports gamblers to ask a point spread question about this game.

San Francisco at Houston

Two teams that are hard to predict results for in the 2009 NFL season. We will see the 49er's debut of Michael Crabtree against the Texans but don't expect him to be a factor. When in doubt go with the home team. Texans 27, 49er's 17.

San Diego at Kansas City

This could be a trap game for the underachieving Chargers. But the Chiefs are just so bad this year (and I am a Chiefs fan). San Diego 21, Kansas City 7.

Buffalo at Carolina

Battle of the bad teams, the Bills and Panthers. With all the Buffalo transplants in Charlotte it may seem like a home game for the Bills. Carolina managed to win despite playing badly in a couple of recent games. One more win brings them to 3-3.

The Panthers do rank 2nd against the pass on defense. But mostly because teams are too busy running on them to throw the ball. They added Tank Tyler to try to beef up the defensive line, so they are still trying.

The Bills are one of the few teams worse than the Panthers at stopping the run. Fantasy owners should use any Buffalo or Carolina running back in week 7. Carolina wins a close one 17 to 13.

New York Jets at Oakland

The Raiders pulled off a huge upset in beating the Eagles in week 5. The Jets have lost 3 straight as rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez looks like a rookie again. I think the Jets turn it around with a win over Oakland, 27 to 17.

Atlanta at Dallas

Cowboy linebacker gets a crack at his old team when Atlanta comes to town. This is the Cowboys chance to show they can play with the big boys in the NFC. But they struggled against the Chiefs and had to have Miles Austin to bail them out.

Atlanta has made full use of Tony Gonzalez but the team looks out of kilter a bit on offense. I think the Falcon secondary can be had. If nobody tells Romo it's a big game, he can blister them. My week 7 upset pick is Dallas beats Atlanta 31 to 27. Ok maybe it isn't that big of an upset lol.

New Orleans at Miami

The Dolphins will hope their Wildcat can confuse the Saints defense under Greg Williams. If it does not, then it's a long night for the Dolphins. Look for the balanced Saints offense to prove enough. New Orleans 24, Miami 17.

Chicago at Cincinnati

Well the surprising Bengals may have fallen back to earth. This week will show if they can still play good football. Remember the Bengals have beat Baltimore and Pittsburgh this year. I like Cutler but he has few weapons and Forte just can't get going. My free week 7 football prediction is Bengals 17, Bears 13.

Arizona at New York Giants

Arizona sucked last year on the East Coast, except in the playoffs against Carolina. Kurt Warner is playing against his old team and the man who replaced him, Eli Manning. I just am not convinced Arizona is all that good. Giants 24, Cardinals 10.

Philadelphia at Washington

These division games can be tricky predictions but not this week. I don't see the Eagles losing two straight to bad teams. The Skins demoted Jim Zorn from play calling in favor of a guy who ran a bingo parlor a few weeks ago. Eagles 35, Skins 10.

Thanks for reading my free football predictions for week 7 of the 2009 NFL season. Remember you football gamblers, leave a point spread question in the comments below. If you do so I will answer it as soon as I can, also in the comments.

I'm afraid Snyder has ruined my Redskins - with of course plenty of help from the players.

That Bills Panthers game should be entertaining despite the lack of great team concepts. Do you think John Fox made the right hire with Meeks?

Yee haw! I picked all the same except I think Dallas will choke. We're 49ers fans, so also commiserating with you Chiefs and Titans fans. :) I must like pain, cuz I'm also a Cubbies fan... but that's neither here nor there.

  • Dena E. Bolton10/22/2009

I agree with all of your picks except maybe the Atlanta-Dallas game. Might have to think about that one for awhile. And I feel your pain at being a Chiefs fan. I'm a Titans fan. This is going to be a long season!

  • Randy Inman10/22/2009

I would take Dallas, San Diego, Chicago, and Houston. Thanks for the question, Tam.
