The best game on paper for the week 9 early NFL games was Baltimore at Cincinnati, with the two division rivals primed to provide an exciting day of football. In the early going it seemed like only one team showed up, as the Bengals led 17-0 at half time and have been looking to really distance themselves and Pittsburgh in the AFC North. It would be a huge step for the Bengals, and could set up a very interesting game against the Steelers later on in the 2009 NFL season. Pittsburgh has their hands full with a big Monday night game against Denver that becomes a must-win if Cincinnati can hold on to their lead.
Peyton Manning is definitely awake today as well, as he had posted 26 for 40 passing to go with 242 yards and a touchdown against the Houston Texans. Was it mentioned that these statistics were just for the first half alone? We had predicted that Manning could have a big week against the Texans, but possibly posting 500 passing yards at the end of the day was not part of that prediction. Could this also be Tampa Bay's week finally? They have 17 points against Green Bay so far, and if a couple of things break their way in the second half, they could be looking at a win for their loyal fans.
There are still plenty of games to go, and quite a few to be finished, but some of the results are decidedly one-sided in the week 9 NFL games.

Post a CommentI couldn't agree more with that assessment. You won't see them as #1 in mine, that's for sure.
Now why the hell would anyone in their right mind put Indy at #1 in their power rankings list after the last couple weeks. So they're undefeated. Bet New England takes them out...
