Denver, San Francisco, Jacksonville, Washington, St. Louis and Tennessee

Free Week Nine NFL Predictions

New York Jets at Detroit

The Lions are improving and can score on anyone but struggle on defense. The Jets were held to no points by an average at best Packers team last week. I love the Lions offense that didn't miss a beat going from Matt Stafford to Shaun Hill then back to Stafford again, they just have no running game. The Jets defense does not allow lots of points but teams can pass on them. But the Jets will run well on Detroit and the Jets win 17 to 14.

Tampa Bay at Atlanta

Tampa Bay may be the shock of the 2010 NFL season with their 5-2 record after eight weeks. The Bucs have an average at best offense but Josh Freeman is playing lights out. Tampa's defense plays the pass decently but sucks against the run. Atlanta has a good offense but their defense is suspect against the pass. But a weak Tampa run defense plays into Atlanta's hands. My free week nine NFL game pick is Atlanta wins 24 to 17.

San Diego at Houston

I was impressed at the Chargers beating a good Titans team but I still think they are pretenders. Houston has little defense but their offense can score on anyone. Houston wins 28 to 21.

New Orleans at Carolina

The Saints gutted it up and knocked off the Steelers last week with improved defensive play. Carolina has a decent defense but the worst offense in the NFL. The thing is Carolina plays the pass well and the Saints struggle to run the ball. These NFC South games tend to have upsets when home teams are the underdog. Carolina wins 17 to 14 in my week nine upset pick.

Chicago at Buffalo

The Bears turn the ball over too much on offense and Julius Peppers and the gang are overrated. Buffalo is winless in 2010 but seem to be getting better each weak. Buffalo gets their first win and beats Chicago 27 to 21.

Arizona at Minnesota

The Cardinals really miss Kurt Warner and their defense sucks too now. Minnesota just can't get it together during most weeks. They do this week as the Vikings beat the Cardinals 24 to 14.

New England at Cleveland

The Browns are looking more solid each week and have a reputation for beating teams they are not supposed to beat. Bill Belichick returns to Cleveland where he wasn't considered a genius coach. Colt McCoy looks good for a rookie not expected to play but I think the Patriots are the best team in the AFC right now. New England wins 21 to 14.

Miami at Baltimore

Defense keeps both these teams in games but neither has a great offense. That is surprising about the Ravens as I really expected them to score lots of points this year. This should be a close game but my week nine NFL game prediction is the Ravens win at home 17 to 14.

New York Giants at Seattle

Seattle showed some flashes of being a good team until the Raiders dog stomped them last week. The Giants are thought by some to be the best team in the NFC but they commit too many mistakes in my opinion. Seattle plays better and home and will keep it close but the Giants win 21 to 14.

Indianapolis at Philadelphia

The Colts are not a great football team except for Peyton Manning. The Eagles have a bad offensive line and a worse defense, but may have Michael Vick returning. I think Manning shreds this defense and the Colts win 31 to 27.

Kansas City at Oakland

The Raiders are coming off back to back blowout wins over bad opponents but hey the Raiders are supposed to be bad too. The Chiefs are very solid and found a way to beat a bad Buffalo team even when the Chiefs were not playing well. Oakland will shut down a bad passing offense by the Chiefs but both teams will run the ball well. Whoever wins the turnover battle will win this game like most others. Oakland knocks off the Chiefs at home, 14 to 10.

Dallas at Green Bay

The Cowboys are done, stick a fork in them. Green Bay has issues but will win 24 to 17.

Week Nine Monday Night Game Prediction

Pittsburgh at Cincinnati

This isn't last years Bengals team that whipped everybody in the division, but they can get up to play the Steelers. Pittsburgh was playing well until they ran into a inspired Saints team wanting to prove something. I don't see this Steelers team losing two in a row. My free Monday Night prediction for week nine is the Steelers win 24 to 17.
