Maggie Ray
Do your summer temperatures get to hot to consider heating your full oven? A toaster oven meal may be the solution. Or perhaps the downturned economy has caused you to rethink how much gas your oven uses for a small meal. When making your weekly meal plan some of your main course items may be best done using toaster oven recipes. Here are five ideas for toaster oven recipes to add to your weekly meal plan.

Weekly Meal Plan Recipe #1: CHICKEN AND GRAVY CASSEROLE Toaster Oven Recipes
You will need one oven cooking bag and four chicken breasts. First make two cups CHICKEN GRAVY using the following:
1 c. chicken broth
1 c. milk
4 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. poultry seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Mix together and set aside.
Next preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare the vegetables for your toaster oven casserole: Chop up carrots, potatoes, and onions making about ½ to ¾ cup each. Place breasts in oven bag. Put carrots, potatoes and onions on top of and beside the breasts. Pour gravy mix over all. Close oven bag and poke holes in it. Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Weekly Meal Plan Recipe #2: TURKEY CASSEROLE Toaster Oven Recipes
8 c. cubed leftover turkey
1 c. turkey gravy or turkey broth
1 can cream soup

butter
Salt & pepper to taste
4 tsp. poultry seasoning

Combine turkey cubes with half turkey broth and a can of the cream soup. Add salt and pepper and poultry seasoning to taste. Melt butter in baking dish, add crumbled stuffing mix stirring together. Reserve half of the stuffing, pour turkey mix over the remaining half. Top with reserved stuffing mix. Bake 1/2 hour covered at 350 degrees and then 15 to 20 minutes uncovered until browned. Turkey mixture should be kind of solid not soupy before putting in oven. If mixture is to thick, add more of the left over broth.
