Welcome to Weekly Oddities: Strange Yet True News Stories. Throughout the week I search for the bizarre, strange, or just plain funny stories from around the globe.

The top five are chosen, and brought to you here.

GHOST IN A BOTTLE

The first story delves into the supernatural. Do you believe in ghost? They are great in the movies, or paperback books. But do they actually exist? John Deese says they do. In fact the Florida man is selling ghost. For twenty dollars you may purchase a ghost in a bottle. That is right a bottle. Deese has professional ghost hunters that capture the ghost and through a secret process, Deese compares it to The KFC secret recipe, trap the ghost in the bottle and seal it with wax. For the twenty dollars you get the ghost sealed in it's bottle, and a certificate of authenticity. Deese warns buyers to open the bottle at their own risk. Hey during the seventies people bought pet rocks like crazy, is a ghost in a bottle much different? http://www.local6.com/print/16388581/detail.html

According to one of the officers she was not an unattractive lady.

MAN THROWS HEDGEHOG AT TEEN

William Singalargh a New Zealand man was fined $545.00 for throwing a hedgehog at a fifteen year old boy. The boy was struck by the spine-covered animal in the leg. The impact caused a large red welt as well as puncture marks. He did not need medical treatment. Singalargh was initially charged with assault with a weapon, which carries a penalty of prison, however that charge was dropped. Police stated the animal was dead when they picked it up as evidence, but do not know if it was alive at the time of assault. Surprising that PETA has not jumped on this one.

NUDE MAID REALLY CLEANS UP

A man hired a nude maid to clean his home while his wife was away. The maid showed up, removed her dress and began cleaning the house. The man hired her on the Internet for $100.00. When his wife returned she discovered $40,000.00 in jewelry was gone. Lesson men, a nude maid may cost you far more than her initial charge, when loss of goods and divorce attorneys are factored in.
