I walk four to five times a week for an hour. Apparently this is not enough for my body. I some how need to find the energy to walk two hours or run that hour instead. I do not understand why my walking an hour around my neighborhood which includes going up and down hills is not enough. But my body takes well to this and it needs more then just a stroll around the block. So upping my cardio will have to be the first thing I do.
In college I took a yoga class. It was tons of fun. It helped me keep down my stress level. I found a DVD that was yoga weight loss. It came with weights and I figured adding in yoga everyday would help me lose weight. Well my body definitely got stronger. The weights helped me get definition in my arms but that was about it. I did not see the scale go down. The yoga will stay in my life though; it helps me feel better about myself. It keeps my stress level to a minimum. The problem is that I am toning things when I do not have a body yet to tone up. I need to lose the tons of layers of fat. So after I lose the weight my body will probably tone up very quickly with my strength training and yoga. The weights are a good attribution but it was not enough. I was only working my arms when I needed to work out everything. Strength training and upping my cardio will probably help me out better. The next thing that I tried which I do not at all recommend is diet pills. I wanted that extra edge yeah I lost a few water weight pounds quickly but that was the first week. After that it came right back on and I felt awful taking these pills. I would get awful headaches because it was dehydrating my body. I felt very jittery even though I looked for pills without added caffeine because I thought I was playing it smart. It ended up that in the big worded jargon on the side of bottle was chemicals that were pretty much caffeine. I was lucky these pills did not kill me just so I could look better.
Then was diet, I thought I was doing well. I was eating tons of salads but here and there I was skipping meals. I would binge at the end of the week because I felt so deprived of foods. I finally found a balance of healthy food and added in tons of water. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I finally got it right.
So if you feel discouraged like me that the scale was going up and not down do not give up! Just look at the big picture. Look at what you are doing right and what you are doing wrong. If you workouts are becoming too easy or if they do not really feel like a workout then up the intensity. Take a good look at your diet because it is easy to sabotage yourself by eating too much. So keep up the good work and I hope you find yourself looking at a leaner healthier you soon.
