Who Else Wants to Be Skinny Forever?

Have you ever wondered why every time you turn around it seems like there is another diet that everybody is ranting and raving about? It's because many diets are a total waste!

Okay diets help you shed a few pounds, but diets often lead to a rebound, meaning that you gain your weight back and more when the diet is over . To achieve long-term weight loss results, what you need is a lifestyle change.

Granted, you should watch what you eat. Healthy eating is essential to not only lasting weight loss, but to overall healthy living also.

A good diet should contain lean proteins, good carbohydrates, and even some fat, which is essential in the digestion of food. Eating several smaller meals will help keep your metabolism running high.

Hydration is essential- sometimes we confuse thirst for hunger, as your body can pull water from solid foods. You should drink several glasses of water a day. The benefits of drinking water are many, and could make a whole new article.

Getting a proper rest helps with weight loss too.

Now it's time to cover the dreaded "e" word. Exercise.

Commonly, people seem to get the wrong idea when it comes to exercise- I'm not talking about those who don't do it at all- what I'm talking about are people who do healthy amounts of the wrong type of exercise, and inevitably quit after not seeing great results.

Most people have the preconceived notion that to shed pounds, they need to do a lot of cardiovascular and aerobic exercise. This may be great for a quick calorie burner, but in the long term, it doesn't have much effect. It's like pawning your stuff when what you really need is a raise.

Strength building exercises are far superior if you intend to lose and control your weight permanently, because muscles burn calories even when you aren't working out.

If you combine these ingredients into your everyday life, you will see permanent life altering results for the better. The difference is that it's more than a diet, it's a lifestyle change. If you're overweight, it's likely that your eating, drinking, sleeping and exercise routine isn't working. Healthy habits lead to healthy bodies!
