Celebrity Weight Loss Can be Unrealistic
Some celebrity weight loss secrets are not so bad and can benefit us all, whether you are losing baby weight or just looking to trim off a few pounds. Others, however, are not healthy or even realistic for the average mom looking to lose weight.
It's true that celebrities know they will be tracked by the paparazzi. Their motivation to lose weight is tied to their public persona and career.
The Reality of Weight Loss for Real Women
Unless someone is chasing you with a camera, and even if they are, you are far better off developing a nutritious eating and exercise plan to lose weight. It should also be realistic. Unlike many of the stars who are able to dash out to the gym on a daily basis you may not have a babysitter, or even the money to join a gym.
Fitness Helps for the Average Mom
Realistic alternatives include workout DVD's that allow you to work at your pace. There are walking DVD's, yoga, Pilates, and traditional aerobics. Find a routine that works for you, or plan in a 45 minute workout at the gym in the evening when someone else is home to help watch the kids.
I don't know much at all about compression weight loss, but I do know that compression belts are available and are used by celebrities and others to automatically suck in that baby pooch. I can't imagine that compression does much for muscle tone, but it probably gets a lot of celebrities by when they are in the public eye. That's just one more reason to forget about it when they appear weeks later looking like they never gained a pound.
Instead of compression belts develop a core body routine that works your abs, back, and thighs. There are a number of exercises you can do using your own body weight and muscle control. Yoga and Pilates will help you tone up without spending a lot of money on any kind of weight loss equipment.
The Truth about Cooking and Diet for the Average Family
Many celebrities have nutritionists or dieticians. The average Jane is on her own. We know organic is better, including fresh fruits and vegetables. However, busy moms with big families to feed can't always afford to shop organic. The truth is, and it's time someone said it out loud, that the cheapest, most filling meals are full of starch, carbs, and fat. Mac and Cheese, potatoes, and hamburger meat are staples on many American tables. Meanwhile, mom beats herself up for not being able to lose weight.
It will take planning, and you may not be able to eat pomegranates and acia berries, but check local grocers and farmers markets for fruits and vegetables that you can afford. When all else fails, canned green beans and dried beans are super foods. Eating green beans is about like eating celery. Beans form proteins and are full of fiber which is very filling.
Lose Weight by Starting with Small Changes
The bottom line to achieving weight loss for average women is to watch saturated fats and carbs and get your body on the move as often as you can. Do the things you've always heard but failed to implement. Take the stairs. Park farther from the store entrance when you don't have a carload of kids with you. Stretch when you get up in the morning to get your blood flowing.
Face your weight loss goals in terms that you can handle. If you don't, you may be doomed to failure, unless you have a mind and will of steel. If you compare yourself to celebrities or others you may become so discouraged that you quit before you reach your goals.
You Can Lose Weight
Stay healthy when losing weight. It may take a little longer than you like to get the weight off, but making lifestyle changes will help you keep it off and feel good about yourself. You have to take control, but your body is unique and it is important to try and follow your instincts when it comes to weight loss.
