Being overweight affects your appearance; this also affects the things you do. Being overweight also carries with it health risks, low self-esteem, and depression. More importantly, it limits you physically on the things you can do, and this lowers your quality of life.
Enough of the bad news, the good news is that if you lose weight and get in shape you can often reverse any ill effects that the fat had on you. Of course, we would all like an easy and fast way to lose all this weight, lucky for us there is a way.
Set a goal
Nothing happens without a purpose, you can no more daydreams your way to the Olympics than you can lose weight lying on the couch daydreaming. Tough reality, waking up and still overweight. The reason is you have to take action before anything happens.
This is not just for weight loss, let us say you are thirsty, daydreaming of a glass of water floating over to you will not slake your thirst. You will have to walk over to the sink, pour a glass of water, physically lift it to your lips and drink.
So we are agreed then that you have to do something, and that is where setting a goal comes in. With a goal comes a plan of action, things to do to achieve your desire. Like the water example above, certain steps must be done to achieve results.
Stay the course
Once you start keep going. There will be good days and bad days, just stay with your weight loss plan, and you will soon see results. Try to avoid unrealistic expectations. Don't be like me and expect to take a single diet pill and wake up the next morning with a super model body, it didn't happen.
Steady effort and self-control; do not think of yourself as being on a diet, which you will someday quit when you are looking like one of those body builders, as you can never quit.
What? I hear you say, it is true you will never quit. If you do not start your weight loss plan, you will never lose weight. The thing is that once you lose the weight you want you will still have to stay on the plan to keep the weight off.
You can lose weight with almost any of the current weight loss plans out there, just find the one you like. Then get started, actually read the book and begin doing the weight loss activities that it recommends.
If you do nothing, nothing will happen. So to get to where you want to be you have to take the first step, then the second, then the third and so on. Soon you will find that you are losing weight and feeling better.
