Weight Loss Secrets

With Thanksgiving and Christmas behind us everyone is sure to be left with a few extra pounds that are going to be stubborn. Here are a few easy ways to help you shed those pounds without sweating them off at the gym.

Breathe your way to a flat belly-Stress is the main reason that women store fat in their bellies, but it could also be that extra helping of potatoes and gravy. Stress causes you to want to eat more so if you practice deep breathing exercises to lower stress it will also quell your appetite. To do: Take 10 deep breaths, inhaling on each to a count of five and exhaling to a count of five. This will increase the oxygen in your blood and help you to feel more relaxed.

Fight fat with eggs-Forget the old story of the yolk being the bad part of eggs and eat the whole egg. The yolk contains lecithin, a fatlike substance produced in the liver that helps block fat storage, and the B vitamin choline, which raises your metabolism. Eggs contains so many natural vitamins and nutrients that just two a day is better than a daily multi-vitamin.

Tame your appetite with yerba mate tea-Yerba mate is an appetite suppressant and metabolism booster. To get the best results enjoy two eight ounce cups daily. If you are a coffee drinker this is a great replacement due to the fact that the taste is similar to coffee.

Sit down to eat-If you sit while you are eating you will consume about 15% fewer calories than if you stand. The reason, if you sit down it actually becomes a meal. Eating while standing tricks your mind into thinking it is only a bite here and a bite there and you will end up eating more. Sitting also makes you feel full faster because gravity isn't allowing the food to go down as far as if you were standing.

Listen to slow music at dinner-The faster and more upbeat the tune is, the faster you will eat. Think about it, fast food restaurants play rock and roll while fancy eateries play slow, rhythmic tunes. Eating slower gives your brain longer to get the "full signal" from your stomach.

Try a soy latte-If you can't go without your morning stop at the local coffeehouse why not try a soy latte? When caffeine and soy combine they supercharge your metabolism. Soy also stops hunger in its tracks by tricking the brain receptors into feeling full.
