The best part? They're extremely low-cal! Each cake has 90 calories, but 16 of those calories are represented by fiber, so your body really only takes in 74 calories per cake. They're individually wrapped, so they're great on the go, or to stick in a lunchbox. Plus, if you're like me, you'll be less tempted to eat the whole box because of the individual wrappers.
Do you follow the Weight Watchers points program? These dense, decadent little delicacies are exactly one point per cake, so if you've got a point or two left over at the end of the day and need to satisfy that sweet tooth, a Weight Watchers cake is the way to go.
So... are they good for you? Well... let's just say they're not the worst choice you could make. The chocolate cakes are a good way to get your daily fix of cocoa without going overboard, and all the others are great alternatives to other cake-based snack foods. The four grams of fiber per cake fulfills 16% of your daily fiber requirement, which is great if vegetables and oatmeal aren't really your thing.
Need to work on getting more vitamins? Weight watchers cakes have a little vitamin A, Iron, and a few B vitamins, but aren't a very good way to get your vitamins and minerals, sorry. But, on the plus side, they are low in saturated fat, with only ½ a gram per cake, and contain no trans fats.
Weight Watchers cakes do contain wheat ,eggs, milk, and soy, so be aware of that if you have any allergies or special dietary restrictions.
Are you ready to give Weight Watchers cakes a try? Here are my suggestions for enjoying these low-cal delicacies:
Chocolate cake:
Get a hot cup of rich black coffee, and stir in one package of your favorite instant, sugar-free, hot chocolate mix. Sip slowly while enjoying a chocolate Weight Watchers cake for that perfect after-dinner treat that will satisfy your chocolate craving.
Caramel cake:
Enjoy a caramel cake with your favorite hot spiced apple cider. It will satisfy your sweet tooth and warm you up, and is the perfect combination for the holidays.
Lemon cake:
The lemon cakes are excellent alongside a cup of lightly sweetened tea, and make a very suitable afternoon snack.
Carrot cake:
Nothing beats carrot cake and a tall glass of milk. If you need variety, try steaming the milk and adding a shot of vanilla or almond syrup. This makes a great midnight snack, as the hot milk will help you get to sleep.
Weight Watchers cakes are an indulgence you don't have to feel guilty about! I hope you try out some of these serving suggestions, and enjoy!
