Weight Watchers New "Chilled Prepared Meals" as an Alternative to Frozen Dinners

Nicole Lang
Weight Watchers has just come up with a new line of prepared foods, however these are not frozen. Instead they can be found in the refrigerated prepared foods section. They are called "Chilled Prepared Meals". They can be prepared in the oven or the microwave like the frozen dinners, however fresher. Currently there are 10 options available and they are generally $2.99 each.

Lasagna

There are two different lasagna dishes available. There is a meat option and also vegetable lasagna. The veggie lasagna is only 5 points while the lasagna with the meat sauce is 6.

Shrimp Fettuccini with Vegetables

This option is only 5 points. The sauce is a lemon garlic butter sauce. Loaded with shrimp and red pepper and zucchini, this option is delicious for only 5 points you cannot beat it. The shrimp are surprisingly tasty and not fishy like a lot of precooked dinners.

Fettuccini Primavera

For only 4 points, this alfredo like pasta comes with lots of veggies including carrots, zucchini and summer squash. Like most Weight Watchers pasta dishes, this one is delicious.

Turkey Meatballs with Pasta and Sauce

For 6 points, you can have a dish that tastes like you made it at home as opposed to heating it up in the microwave and having to wash a ton of dishes.

Baked Ziti

One of my favorites, this delicious pasta with a cheesy tomato sauce is delicious. It is 6 points but you can hardly tell the difference between this and a homemade baked ziti.

Chicken Cacciatore

For 4 points this delicious chicken, red and green pepper and mushroom combination served with penne is quite good.

Roast Turkey with Cranberry Stuffing

A dinner that is sure to make you feel like its Thanksgiving. This turkey and stuffing is very "gourmet" like for a prepared dinner. It comes with gravy to help you feel like you are not sacrificing taste. This dinner is 5 points.

Meatloaf with Garlic Mashed Potatoes

The collection would not be complete without some comfort food. Of course no meatloaf is complete without beef gravy and mashed potatoes. This meatloaf however is likely less fattening than those served at restaurants or served by your mother. You can have all of this for only 6 Weight Watcher points.

Three Cheese Macaroni

Another comfort food selection, this three cheese macaroni comes with romano, cheddar and parmesan cheese. It is 5 points and although quite good nothing like the more fattening version.

So here is another option for those nights when cooking just does not seem like an option or you are looking for an easy, healthy dinner.
