I absolutely love the Weight Watchers Chocolate Cake 1 point value. You see I am what some would call a "chocoholic". I love chocolate. I will eat anything chocolate, well almost anything. Unfortunately, the scale does not agree with me when I make the decision to eat a delicious piece of chocolate cake, or dive into a gallon of chocolate ice cream. Therefore, I had to find something to replace my fattening chocolate addictions with something healthier and a lot less fattening than a sleeve of Oreo cookies. Although I have to be honest with you, nothing can replace a sleeve of Oreo cookies dunked in a huge tall glass of ice-cold milk. Oops, I think I am losing my train of though. Ok, back to the snacks.
A co-worker of mine also is a fellow "chocoholic". She battles the scale we well and highly recommended I try the Weight Watchers Chocolate cake for only one point value from the weight watchers plan. It looked so good I figured it couldn't hurt to try a piece. Well, to my delight and surprise, it was actually delicious. Although after two bites, the whole thing was gone. I guess that is what makes it only worth one point value! I went to the store and bought a box anyway.
At King Kullen I was able to buy a box for $3.99 At Target I was able to buy the same box for only $2.99. That was a much better deal, unfortunately, you can't always find them at Target. There are about 10 - 12 little cakes that come in one box. One cake equals one point value if you are following the weight watchers points plan. Don't expect one to be enough if you are really hungry and having a bad chocolate craving. You are going to need to eat two of them. It is still not bad because two cakes equal two weight watcher points. I usually have one in the morning with a cup of tea and then another one about an hour or so later.
To describe the taste would be like saying you are eating a spongy cake with chocolate icing on top. The consistency of the actual cake part is light and fluffy. It doesn't fall apart when you bite into it. That's good, I don't like when cake falls apart as you eat it. The icing is very rich and delicious. This is where your chocolate craving will be satisfied. Sometimes the icing gets stuck to the clear plastic wrapper that each cake is individually wrapped in. This upsets me because sometimes my icing sticks to the wrapper and that is my favorite part of the whole treat. I usually need to eat another when if this happens.
Ok, on to the chocolate muffin. The muffin has a three-point value. This is much more than the chocolate cake. I am not a fan of the weight watcher muffin. First because I think three points is way too many points for a small serving of food, and secondly the taste just isn't there for me. It doesn't have the chocolate punch that I look for in a muffin. If it were worth one point value then I would make the exception. You can buy the Weight Watcher muffins in the same packaging as the chocolate cakes. They also cost $3.99 at King Kullen.
In conclusion this review, I highly recommend the chocolate cake one point value from weight watchers, I don't think you will be disappointed. I do not recommend the chocolate muffin from Weight Watchers for a three-point value. It is not worth the money or the points.
Weight Watchers makes the cakes in chocolate, lemon, carrot, and caramel. Weight Watchers makes the muffins in chocolate, blueberry, caramel, and berries/cream.
