Weight Watchers Dark Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake Ice Cream Bars Review

Amy Brantley
Long before I started the Weight Watchers diet, I had been a fan of the company's products. Recently, I was given the chance to try several of the company's latest ice cream bars. The one I was most interested in trying was the Dark Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake. The name alone was enough to make my mouth water. But, would these bars be as good as some of the others I've come to love?

When I first opened the package, I was a bit disappointed in the size of the bars. I'm use to the Giant Fudge Ice Cream Bars and these are a bit smaller. However, with that being said, the flavor more than makes up for the smaller size.

The Dark Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake Bar is a cheesecake ice cream with a raspberry swirl that is then dipped half way in a dark chocolate coating. When you bite into this bar, you are hit with a mixture of flavors that send your taste buds into overdrive. The slight bitterness of the dark chocolate with the tangy taste of the cheesecake ice cream and the sweet, yet tart taste of the raspberry swirl is a combination that sends warning signals to your brain. There's no way this could be low fat, but it is.

One ice cream bar has 110 calories, 4 grams of fat, 4 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams trans-fat, 0mg of cholesterol, 35mg of sodium, 90mg of potassium, 18 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of fiber, 12 grams of sugar, 2 grams of protein, 2% of your daily Vitamin A, 6% of your daily calcium and a PointsPlus value of 3.

There is only one thing I found wrong with these bars and that's the use of high fructose corn syrup. For many people, this isn't a big deal. However, I'm not only trying to lose weight, but want to be healthier as well. I hope this is something the company changes in the future.

I give the Weight Watchers Dark Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake Ice Cream Bar 4.5 out of 5 stars. The only reason I knocked off half a star is the use of high fructose. Other than that, this bar is awesome and I highly recommend it.
