Weight Watchers is a very popular diet in this country. It is considered more of a lifestyle change rather than a diet. You see the ads all over television with the ladies who say they have lost 20, 30, 40, 70 pounds by using Weight Watchers and how they just loved going to meetings and how they made new friends for life. So you check it out online and are taken aback by the cost. What's a girl to do when she can not afford the cost of such a great plan like Weight Watchers? She does it on her own, that's what! You don't have to be a member of Weight Watchers to lose weight with it's plan. Here are a few tips to help you keep your hard earned money in your pocket and still be able to use the Weight Watchers program to lose your unwanted pounds.

Websites- If you are looking for information about Weight Watchers from real users of the program then just do a quick online search and you will find all types of websites dedicated to Weight Watchers. You can find any type of information about Weight Watchers that you would need to know. There are sites that will tell you how many points your body is suppose to eat, links to success stories, information about recipes that are Weight Watchers friendly and much, much more.

Online Communities- One of the things that Weight Watchers talks about the most is how you will meet new people and have "leaders" who will help keep you on program. I, for one, can do without that in my busy everyday life. What I do enjoy are the online communities filled with wonderful, friendly and helpful people who are going through the exact same things that I am. You can find a Weight Watchers dedicated group or community just about anywhere online. There are forum websites, groups on sites like Yahoo and MSN and even groups on other sites dedicated to weight loss like Extrapounds.com and SparkPeople.com. If you need people to talk to and people to commiserate with then there is no reason that you can not find just the right place for you, for FREE.

Recipes With Points- So now you are wondering, "What about recipes?". Sure the Weight Watchers website has a lot of friendly recipes filled with all of their points values, but is that a good reason to pay those high membership fees? The answer is no. All you have to so is search for "Weight Watchers Recipes" and there will be thousands of search results and it does not matter if you are doing the Flex plan or the Core plan. You will find thousands of links for both. If you do the search on Yahoo then the very first link provided boasts that they have 1,090 Weight Watchers recipes on their site alone. You will always be able to find a good recipe for dinner and you won't even have to look very hard.

Foods in the Stores- The moment that I decided to start the program was the very day that I noticed that my local Bi-Lo now carries Weight Watchers Blueberry Muffins. That was the day that I thought, "Wow, if they have the foods in the grocery store then I could soooo do it!". Everytime I look there is something new in the stores that are either a Weight Watchers brand or another brand that supports the program and has the points values on their products also. No more of the going to meetings just to buy the "good" foods. Now you can run to your local grocery store and pick up things like Weight Watchers yogurts, drinkable yogurts, chocolate cakes, carrot cakes, muffins, ice cream novelties and even yummy key lime pie. So no more excuses that you can't do the program because you can't buy the foods.

Ebay Goodies- Well I bet you have heard that there are special books, scales and other things from Weight Watchers that you can only buy at the meetings or when you sign up to become a member. Not anymore! When I started the program (on my own) a friend of mine who had done the whole membership deal previously had told me about the books so I looked on Ebay and there they were. I bought the book I wanted off of Ebay and it was even the brand new edition. I had it in my hands in a matter of a few days and I was set. You can find a lot of the Weight Watchers items on Ebay, most for very reasonable prices.

Friends Who Have Done It- If you are in need of real live people support then why not make friends with someone who has already done the Weight Watchers program. I'll bet that you're already aquainted with someone who has and you just don't know it. They can offer you advice, help answer any questions that you may have or lead you in the right direction to find out the answers. They can be there when you hit a plateau and talk you through it. Of course, you can get all of this with your online communities also. You could probably even become close friends with an online buddy of your's and then become real-life friends.

In the end, all it takes is the want to change your life and lose weight. There is always a way to get around the cost of a weight loss plan, even Weight Watchers. There are thousands of people looking for the exact same information that you are looking for. When that many people are searching for something someone is bound to put that information on the web. Just keep looking and you will find what you need.
